The Esoteric Message Of The Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs
Don’t read it as a tale. It holds a secret veiled in symbols and allegory.
I guess most of us, at least people from baby boomers and X generation, read the popular children’s tale — Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We all read it and learned a lot from the story about the never-ending fight between good and evil and that the good ones win finally.
Is this the only thing the story says?
Could there be more to it for those who know how to read the symbols inside the story?
There is undoubtedly more than what you read on the story, and I will guide you a little bit about it.
Snow white is a symbol of goodness. The witch queen is the symbol of evil. They both form Yin Yang, the never-ending dance of the opposites in the cosmos.
The queen uses a mirror to ask questions about herself continuously. She does not like the honest replies of the mirror. This is an excellent portrait of most people on Earth. The hardest thing in the world is to hold a mirror to yourself. First, It is hard because you need to ask the right powerful questions to understand the real you behind your personality masks. That requires self-inquiry. Second, giving honest answers to powerful questions needs honesty and a free mind, not clouding your ego’s shadows. It is self-observation. Third, you need to understand the reason for your answers by deep diving into your inner realm. You will discover both good and evil in yourself. Only a brave heart can pass through this step. Fourth and last, you need to be able to take action to improve yourself. Many people do not even get to the 1st step. Most people who pass step 2, either run away from themselves into their fake comfort zones or break the mirrors others hold to them.
The queen living in the stone castle symbolizes living in the comfort zone and surrounding herself will the illusionary walls of protection from the outer world as if life is not about progress, learning, and improvement.
The man sent after Snow White symbolizes the enslaved person living in ignorance, dogma, bigotry, and superstition. He is unconscious without any idea as to his potential and the truths.
He is enslaved in the darkness and is not even aware of his deeds. He then goes on a journey for an evil reason but cannot complete it because of his conscience. It is the symbol of conscience that is our ultimate savior when we suffer in darkness. Everyone has purity in their heart as we are part of cosmic unity, which is nothing but love and light. This essence comes from our spirit, the God particle inside us, and is veiled by the ego’s personality masks, disabling its light to radiating like the sun.
This man decides to let Snow White go instead of following the orders of the sinister queen. It is the symbol to make a choice with free will for the better.
The purity of Snow White is outstanding, but she is not conscious of that. She does not have self-awareness. Even goodness without consciousness is not wisdom. Such purity can result in perish. The message here is to develop self-awareness even when is in the hands of the good.
Snow White was left inside a jungle. The jungle is the life where life presents its challenges to us disguised in good and evil, right and wrong, fair and unfair. Despite the chaos in the jungle, some paths lead to security, and Snow White finds one of them.
Her journey through the jungle, Snow White meets the 7 Dwarfs, whose names represent the 7 cardinal sins. 7 sins are different ways humans lose their identity. Therefore, the dwarfs are not portrayed as other humans. Their small bodies are a symbol of a human being entrapped in lower levels of consciousness versus reaching higher consciousness. Another message here is that purity wins over sins.
Snow White lives happily with them, and they are with her too. The dwarfs are as they are and happy with themselves, just as how the universe is as it without any good or bad intentions. Everything in the universe is neutral until we, humans, label them with our emotional attachments.
Dwarfs, whose names come from the 7 cardinal sins, have to work just like how Adam and Eve were to work to earn a living after they were expelled from Heaven. Working is the way to cleanse sins according to the Old Testament.
One day the queen learns Snow White is living and finds her place. Disguised as an old woman, she knocks on the door and hands out a red apple to Snow White, who passes out after eating it. The apple was the reason for being expelled from Heaven. Snow White loses her consciousness and causeless happiness. Apple is the source of temptation. Even though this kind of temptation is mostly referred to as evil, any extreme temptation even for good is an attachment that will result in the hands of the dark side.
Snow White lies without consciousness in the forest until a Prince passing by comes and awakens her with a loving kiss. The period of unconscious sleep is an ancient initiation symbol of death in life before death. It means self-accounting yourself and overcoming your ego without waiting for judgment day in the afterlife.
The story ends when she wakes up with the true loving kiss of the Prince. Love, not eros but agape, is the ultimate power to change things in life. It is the source of everything. The ticket to reach unity in an inner journey is unconditional love — a love that embraces everything without judgment and reason.
What do you think?
Could what I have unveiled above be true?
Let your heart answer that because only your intuition can understand the language of symbols disguised in shapes, allegories, and metaphors unless you have been through an esoteric school.
Just try to understand the path described above from ignorance to freedom.
