The Mind Blowing Revelation That My 92 Years Grandfather Shared With Me at the End of His Life
Old School wisdom for daily life.
My grandfather was born poor and died with enough money to live another 92 years without having to work.
He was also a happy and long-lived person working his land until almost 90.
I asked him about his secret at the end of his life, and he told me something I will never forget.
“Lifwould a journey, but each person has a different destination.” — My grandfather.
My grandfather used to say there have never been and never will be two people with the same fingerprints in human history.
And that makes each person unique.
And therefore, you are a rising value. Since, by the law of supply and demand, being unique, you are a scarce commodity.
You only have to find your market and potential customers personally and professionally.
And for that, you have to discover why you came to this world.
To do that, you must ask yourself, “What can only I and no one else do?”
In other words, discover a “Mission” only you can accomplish.
If you are unique, that which only you can do is your greatest asset.
“You came into this world to do something. And if you don’t do it, it will remain undone.” — My grandfather.
My grandfather used to say that life was more straightforward than people think; it consisted of two things.
- Knowing what you came into this world for (finding your mission).
- Doing it (fulfilling your mission).
And the Universe — according to my grandfather — provides you with what you need to complete that mission.
He used to say, “You are equal partners with the Universe. You have to take care of the sowing, and the Universe will provide you with the rain and the sun for your seeds to flourish.”
It’s not magic. It’s logic.
The Universe sends you to this world with a mission, so you need the resources to fulfill it.
“The right persons, ideas, and serendipities start to happen when you follow your inner voice,” he used to say.
But he also warned me otherwise.
“If you stop listening to your calling, life becomes a trap little by little as you accumulate bad decisions, and at a certain point, there is no escape.”
Lesson: don’t fall into the trap :-)
“Happiness is not the destination but the GPS” — My grandfather.
For my grandfather, happiness was not an end in itself but rather the Google Maps of the smartphone that guided you.
In one of our last conversations, he said, “Grandson, happiness is nothing more than the Universe’s GPS telling you that you are on the right track. On the other hand, sadness, frustration, stress, malaise, laziness, and idleness are all indications that you have strayed from your path.”
Afterward, I asked him why there were so many emotions for destructive paths and only one to indicate the good one.
And obviously, he answered me, “Because there is only one good path and many bad ones.”
If you think about it, it makes sense.
That was my grandfather’s secret: keep it simple, find the mission, accomplish it.
Since I’ve been doing that, life has been going much better for me, and I feel happy.
So listen to my grandfather, and remember that your inner voice is the eyes your soul uses so you can follow your path in this uncertain world where sometimes everything becomes dark and dangerous. Listen to that voice.
