Coming out of a layer of old-dead leaves, and still with trees totally naked, some flowers show up and bring us the news that the end of the winter is near. This and all other photos by author Luciano Abriata.

The end of the winter, already?

Eager to enter the spring as I enjoy the last weekends in the snow.

Yes, there’s still plenty of snow very high up in the mountains.

But it is melting in the lower valleys.

While the lower lands miss the snow for weeks, now also the altitude lakes are loosing their icy crusts:
