The Enchanted Forest
We walked amongst other worldly ways.

I saw all the colors that day, running in streams, Painted in a spectrum of greens and blues along the way, Dancing in heavenly hues bounced the light of the day, And through the enchanted wooded land with you hand-in-hand, We walked amongst other worldly ways, And on the path that led to the innermost chambers of my open heart.
I felt each and every sound that fell upon the land, Endeavoring to be heard through the competing thoughts in my head, And the wonder of the words that you said, Yet still I was led to a place that I know will stay with me and keep me whole, As does the ebbs and flows of the ocean, Pulling me to be ever grounded in places that aren’t.
Standing upon moss covered roots of that magical tree, As the heavy boughs and branches stretched high seeking light, Our dendritic arms reached for unbounded sky above the forest canopy, And from the very worm’s eye view I felt my legs dizzily sway, Yet with You as my anchor, I felt a new world come alive Together we gazed upon a canvas reflecting tones of the Earth’s impart.
If but only one thing in this world that I be granted, Is to be firmly entrenched in that day, That I keep it with me throughout my days now, Within the days yet to be that follow, And when my soul feels hollow within valleys of sorrow, To always remember to keep me in that place, And within that space in time, As surely I sing of that moment, how great thou art . . .
