The Emotion of Love

A Poem of New Love

Photo by Patty Brito on Unsplash

The emotion of love Sends a thrill through your spine An electrifying sting that shakes up your mind You’re filled with desire As if your pounding heart is on fire Your feet are sent floating Your body’s in a fit You want to run you just can’t sit This emotion of love Has taken you down In a way that’s turned you upside down Nothing approaches what you’re feeling right now You hold on so tight as if in a storm on a ships bow You try to explain it you use simple words Many of which you believe you have heard Yet you are in heaven afloat in the air There’s a feeling of joy you’ve lost all despair It must have been her blue eyes or her bright golden hair That brought you to that first kiss you really don’t care You must have her near you to hold and to love You pray for the first time to he who’s above The emotion of love That has you in this way You hope never leaves you the rest of your days. — WOLRAD
