Never-Ending Poem Prompt
The Elusive Metaphor
A Poem

I met her for a cession She said I couldn’t spell Some therapists Don’t find life punny I say what the hell
My older life’s new mission Is to play with words Why not prosaic Serious or funny Wing it like a bird
The elusive metaphor Is waiting in the wings No simile Right on the money Mirth where is thy sting
I stumbled into poetry three months ago and have enjoyed falling over ever since.
Martin Rushton started his Never-Ending Poem three weeks ago:
I owe an apology to Tooth Truth Roopa Vikesh from India who tagged me in early July to join in and I didn’t.
Forgive me. I hereby tag you back.
Now Marie T Smith from Scotland has nagged me with this and I couldn’t resist:
She knows me well enough that it was doubtful I’d write a serious poem using her prompt “Metaphor”.
So, I didn’t.
Apart from those I’ve mentioned, I’m tagging Marilyn Flower, Simran Kankas, Charlene Fate, Sylvia Wohlfarth and Marla Bishop to write any form of poem using the word Missing.
I should mention this is nerve-wracking — the first time I’ve ever prompted anyone to do anything.
I don’t fancy ordering people about — so this is a request to please keep the chain going with a new prompt and tagging others.
Thanks for playing!
