Twitter, Inc. (NYSE: TWTR) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk… in a transaction valued at approximately $44 billion.

You know that I have secured funding to make the company private, right? Don’t want to brag but… I’m the best at humility.
U.S. SEC: Hello, there. 👋 Musk: Yup U.S. SEC: We’d love to see some paperwork for these claims. As the Chairman and CEO, we have to make sure your words are not misleading investors. Musk: Umm, Yea. About that. I’m projecting it into our future. U.S. SEC: You have to relinquish your Chairman of the board title. Also, a lawyer has to vet before you tweet henceforth, considering that your words represent your companies on this social media.

Since hearing about Elon Musk’s 9.2% Twitter purchase, and his appointment to its board (or not), I can’t help but feel that we are heading towards degenerative Twitter.

Chairman of the board of Twitter, Bret Taylor, has announced that the Board has agreed with Billionaire, Musk. Twitter will become a privately held company.
A Twitter where:
- People can edit their ill-natured and insensitive thoughts shared after using it to chase clout. The edit button has been a subject of debate for Musk for a while, seeing that he is at the receiving end of backlash faced from tweeting without thinking.
- Conspiracy theories thrive
- One-line crassness rules
- Defamation and cyber harassment blossom
- Hate speech is encouraged under the guise of free speech
- Bullying is an affair of come one, come all (just look at the number of likes and retweets of this distasteful Tweet)
