Summary

The web content discusses the concept of the human biofield as an electromagnetic field of energy that influences health and well-being, and how healing can be achieved through vibrational frequencies and sound, challenging the traditional biochemical model of Western medicine with an electric health paradigm.

Abstract

The article titled "The Electric Health Paradigm" explores the idea that the human body is surrounded by an electromagnetic biofield that contains vital information about an individual's life and health. It contrasts the Western medical model, which focuses on biochemistry, with the emerging understanding of the body as an electric system influenced by quantum mechanics and biophysics. The text cites the work of researchers like Dr. Beverly Rubik and Eileen Day McKusick, who have contributed to the study and application of biofield healing techniques, such as Biofield Tuning. This method uses sound vibrations from tuning forks to harmonize the body's energy field, promoting healing and release of emotional and physical trauma. The article also references the Electric Universe Model, which includes plasma and aether as foundational components, and suggests that the universe's electric nature is integral to understanding the human biofield. The potential of sound and vibration in medicine is highlighted, with references to historical and contemporary practices, as well as the impact of these modalities on cellular physiology and gene expression.

Opinions

  • The author posits that the biofield, an electromagnetic field surrounding the body, is a central component of health, contrary to the limited biochemical focus of Western medicine.
  • The article expresses that the understanding of the universe as electric in nature is crucial to fully comprehending the human biofield and its role in health.
  • There is an opinion that the biofield can be mapped and that specific emotional and mental issues correspond to particular areas within this field.
  • The text suggests that sound and vibration are not only tools for healing but are also fundamental to the nature of the universe and the human body.
  • The author implies that the Western medical system's reluctance to incorporate energy-based healing modalities is due to a lack of understanding of quantum biology and integrative biophysics.
  • The article conveys optimism about the future of energy medicine, particularly the use of sound and vibration, as a powerful adjunct or alternative to traditional medical treatments.

The Electric Health Paradigm

New science of the biofield and healing with vibration

“Future medicine will be the medicine of frequencies.” — Albert Einstein

The phone that you are likely holding in your hands right now is astonishing. Trillions of bits of invisible data are streaming through space to and from your phone as you read this, and yet somehow because it’s so ordinary, it doesn’t feel astonishing.

But it IS, and so is the electromagnetic field of energy that surrounds your body, teeming with information about your life. The difference is that everyone knows about the invisible clouds of information streaming to your phone and very few people know about the invisible cloud of information in and around your body that governs every aspect of your life, health and well-being.

You are an electric body living in an electric universe.

The electromagnetic body is not common knowledge in the western world because the western medical system operates on a biochemical model of healing. This model based on the reductionist field of molecular biology is not wrong, per se, but woefully incomplete and ignores the contributions and holistic understandings of the nature of reality from quantum mechanics and quantum biology — or integrative biophysics[1].

As a teenager in the 80’s, I distinctly recall the word ‘aura’ connected to Shirley MacLaine and “woowoo” new age pseudoscience. Fast forward forty years and researchers around the world are collaborating to study energy fields around the body, now known in scientific terms as biofields. As defined by leading researcher Dr. Beverly Rubik, the biofield is “a field of energy and information that reflects and guides the homeodynamic regulation of a living system, and as such influences and is influenced by consciousness.” [2]

The idea that a biofield of energetic information exists around the human (or any being’s) body is difficult for most of us to believe because it is inconsistent with the basic material model of the universe we were taught in school.

This challenge continues today despite thousands of years of holistic health models such as Chinese, Ayurveda, African, Native American and others throughout the world that have persisted. Novel research at western science standards into the biofield continues to support its existence [3].

The Electric Universe Model

In physics we were taught that matter principally comes in three forms — solids, liquids, and gas. The fourth form of matter, plasma, was mentioned but largely ignored, which is rather curious since it is the most abundant and makes up 99.9% of the known universe.

Plasma, a gas of charged particles (ions and free electrons) that conduct electricity, is critically important to understanding how energy moves through it since the presence of charged particles makes plasma electrically conductive and responsive to electromagnetic fields.

“Plasma is all around us. We live in a fluid, electromagnetic environment. When you breathe in, you are breathing in plasma. You are breathing in air that is full of electricity and life. When you’re breathing in coastal, ocean air that’s full of lots of airborne charge (what we call negative ions), you’re breathing in even more plasma.” — Eileen Day McKusick

An understanding of plasma is central to the electric universe, and so is aether. The resurrection of aether (or Higgs field, quantum field, or zero-point field) into the cosmological equation of our universe is quietly gaining acceptance as a medium that unifies well, everything in the known universe. In simple terms, aether is an invisible ocean of light in which electromagnetic waves arise, travel and dissolve back into.

Although the concept of aether fell out of favor in the early 20th century, Einstein himself reconsidered the need for aether and in an address at the Leiden University in 1920 said on the subject: “More careful reflection teaches us, however, that the special theory of relativity does not compel us to deny ether.”

Why does all this matter? Because the plasma, aether, and the understanding of our electric universe are foundational science underlying the human biofield and our body as first and foremost an energetic system.

Mapping the Human Biofield and Healing with Sound

Everything vibrates — or as quantum physicist Max Planck said

“Everything jiggles”

Sound medicine specialist Kulreet Chaudhary, MD, says, “every organ, every bone, and every cell in the body has its own resonant frequency.” Given the primacy of the subtle electric energy system within the body, it makes sense that sound and vibration could be a direct way to heal it.

The science of healing with sound and vibration is not new. Eastern healing from the Chinese and Vedic systems have known this for thousands of years — the subtle energy body is the fundamental concept underlying acupuncture and other energy-based healing systems that recognize chi, or the life force inherent in all things.

In the early 2000s, Eileen Day McKusick, an energy practitioner in Vermont, started working with tuning forks as a healing modality on the body. One way by accident while working on a client, she discovered her forks responded as far as six feet away from the body. She got curious and started experimenting with tuning forks in the field as a healing practice. It worked so well that she went on to pioneer the technique of “Biofield Tuning” to support healing of numerous physical, emotional and mental conditions.

In Biofield Tuning, coherent wave forms generated from tuning forks are placed in the electromagnetic field — or biofield — of the body. When placed in a person’s field, the coherence of the forks brings the field back into harmony and resonance. By shifting the electromagnetic field, the body is brought into greater flow and stored pain, emotions, and trauma can be released.

In addition to facilitating healing, Eileen’s curiosity with biofield tuning as a healing modality led her to spend years listening with forks to the fields of thousands of clients. As a modern day explorer of the field, she created something quite remarkable — a map of the human biofield! That’s correct — a map! She found consistent emotional and mental issues in different places in people’s biofields. For example, off the right hip she found a consistent pattern in people with issues of over-thinking and over-doing and off the left foot, she found a tendency to feel stuck or mired in situations.

My personal experience in biofield tuning confirms the extraordinary power that tuning forks have to help people heal from a variety of issues. Beyond biofield tuning, multiple studies have demonstrated the body’s and especially the brain’s sensitivity to sound and vibration through changes in arousal, emotion, and gene expression when people listen to dissonant versus pleasant music.

I’m not just talking about calming the body — watch this mind-blowing TED Talk by Anthony Holland at Skidmore College on using resonant frequencies for healing cancer to grasp the potential.

Noted cell biologist Bruce Lipton, PhD, writes in the Biology of Belief (2005) about the antenna-like structures on cells that respond to vibrational frequencies:

The antennas on these energy receptors vibrate like tuning forks… Because these receptors can read energy fields, the notion that only physical molecules can impact cell physiology is outmoded. Biological behavior can be controlled by invisible forces as well as it can be controlled by physical molecules like penicillin, a fact that provides the scientific underpinning for pharmaceutical-free energy medicine.

Final Thoughts

We are wired at the cellular level to respond to vibration and frequency.

The use of sound and vibration for healing is still in its infancy in the Western world. Energy medicine pioneers like Eileen Day McKusick are opening our eyes to the interconnected electric universe, understanding our own human bodies as electric, and the incredible potential for healing through sound and vibration in the biofield.
