The Effects in the Spiritual Realm When You Neglect to Pray
5 shocking Things that Happen in the Unseen World
The backbone of any Christian is an established relationship with God but did you know that research shows that only 32% of Christians pray daily, with the remaining 68% reporting that they seldom or never pray? In this article, we will find out the real events that take place behind the scenes when you fail to pray so without further ado, let’s dive in
1. Vulnerability to attacks
One of the greatest mistakes that Christians make is thinking that a few words of prayer are enough to sustain them from the attacks of the enemy so they just pray for a few minutes or seconds and then get on with their day but that’s a big problem. Statistics show that the average Christian prays for just 5 minutes a day and that young people between the ages of 18 and 29 pray even less than older generations.
Now think about it: Satan is over 6,000 years old and it is impossible to use a 5-minute prayer to defeat someone with over 6,000 years of experience. You can’t be a part-time Christian and fight a full-time devil; that’s impossible 99% of the attacks you will face are not when you expect them; they will often be when you least expect them.
If only God could open your eyes for you to see into the Heavenly realm, you would be shocked by the number of demons and evil spirits that attack you on a daily basis. They are constantly bombarding you, yet so many Christians feel a 5-minute prayer is enough to repel such a sophisticated network of dark forces.
It doesn’t work that way Jesus himself asked his disciples, Could you not read with me for just an hour? He was telling them that to get the benefits of prayer and to grow as Christians, they should be able to spend at least an hour a day in God’s presence. You have 24 hours in a day, so spending one hour with God shouldn’t be a problem but what most people do is just wake up in the morning and rush a quick prayer, then think they are powerful enough to withstand plans the enemy has taken years to build up.
That’s impossible. Think about prayers like your phone’s battery, trying to sustain your spiritual life on nothing more than brief prayers here and there It's like trying to charge your phone battery for just 5 minutes and expecting it to last you for an entire day.
The charge simply won’t be enough The bigger the battery, the longer it needs to charge. The same goes for your spiritual life The bigger the expectation for your life, the longer you need to stay in God’s presence
2. Forgetting how God talks
Another thing that happens when you stop praying is that you start forgetting what God’s voice sounds like. You will either stop having those meaningful divine dreams and revelations where God reveals things to you or his voice will get harder to discern clearly and your spiritual sensitivity will be diminished but the more you talk with God, the more familiar you will become with his voice.
Sometimes when prayer isn’t a regular pattern in your life, the devil could trick you by pretending to be God’s voice, as the Bible says in the book of 2 Corinthians and no Marvel for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. He can disguise himself as an angel of light in order to deceive people and lead them away from God and if you’re not used to God’s voice, you might instead follow the voice of the devil, assuming it was God who spoke to you.
Jesus talked about this. He said my sheep know my voice and will follow it so when you make prayer a habit, God’s voice becomes recognizable to you but if you’re distant from him, even the devil’s voice could sound like God’s voice to their ears.
That's why some good Christians still go LED astray. Sometimes they hear a voice telling them to do something evil and they assume it’s God’s voice without checking but really the devil was the one who spoke to them and they acted on it without realizing it.
How many times have you heard people say God told them to do this or that, while it wasn’t God who spoke to them? someone walks up to you and says God told him that he should get married to you without checking with the Holy Spirit You immediately get excited and rush into the marriage, only to later realize that the person you married was not sent by God; he had heard the wrong voice and now you are stuck in trouble.
That is why Jesus said in the Book of John that the time is coming when You will fail when you need backup Whoever kills you will think he is doing God a service. That means some people will do bad things, thinking God asked them to. The Bible says we should test all Spirits

3. Failure when backup is needed
You know this is the painful bit. Most people only seem to pray when things are really bad or about to go wrong; these are known as emergency prayers.
It is when a person goes about their day-to-day life without caring, then all of a sudden something bad happens, and they need all the prayers in the world Just like when someone gets a scary letter from their boss saying they might lose their job, they start praying super hard but those emergency prayers don’t always work like that In the realm of the spirit, prevention is always better than cure.
You cannot always avoid spiritual attacks but you can at least avoid becoming a victim of sudden surprises from the enemy.
When you take a holiday from prayers and the devil strikes, sometimes even when you recover from the spiritual attacks, the devil might have done so much damage to the point that you are barely able to stand up.
But if you have lived daily in prayer, you will always be prepared for any attack. The strength of an army is not only in its weapons but also in its preparedness. That’s why sometimes people go out and don’t come back or fall asleep and don’t wake up. The devil takes advantage of a weak moment or everything is going smoothly and then suddenly one problem piles on top of another. Remember, his family was living a normal life when suddenly disaster struck back to back? So if you want to live close to God, don’t wait for emergencies to speak with him.
Make prayer a daily habit. The more you talk to God, the stronger you’ll be against temptation and the devil’s schemes. Don’t leave yourself vulnerable. Keep your prayer life consistent. That way, when tough times do come, you’ll have the strength to withstand them Through God’s power, he’ll give you what you need to push through but you’ve got to talk to him daily to build that strength
4. Ease in falling into sin
Look, if we’re not talking to God, we will easily fall into sin regularly. It leaves a void that something else will fill, so simply put, if you don’t communicate with God, you will communicate with the devil. Think about Adam and Eve in the garden.
As long as they were walking and talking to God daily, Satan didn’t have a chance to come in but the moment they stopped conversing with their creator, that’s when the devil swooped in to chat with Eve. He knew just how to twist the truth once God was out of the picture.
The passage in Proverbs says it well: If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Proverbs chapter: when troubles come, if we haven’t built up spiritual stamina through prayer, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and give into temptation but if prayer is already a habit, then in hard times we’ll have the strength to resist the devil James tells us to resist the devil and he will flee from us.
How do we resist being closely connected to God on a daily basis through talking and listening to him in prayer? So the bottom line is that if we leave gaps by not communicating with our heavenly father, don’t be surprised when someone else slithers in to fill the silence.
Keep those daily prayer lines open so Satan doesn't have a chance to corrupt our minds and lead us astray God wants to protect us if we’ll let him through prayer.
5. Dying relationship with God
Finally, when you don’t make prayer Your relationship with God begins to die. It's easy to start drifting away from God without even realizing it. The excitement and passion you once had just became less and less pretty. Soon, God feels more like a stranger than a dear friend, and it happens so gradually that we might not notice our zeal and motivation fading away. But the reality is that every relationship needs quality time and communication to thrive. If we don’t take those daily moments to connect with God, our bond with him will weaken over time. We'll start to lose our first love fervor so don’t let your love grow cold. Keep those meaningful prayer times to stay intimately tied to the Creator. Nurture that relationship daily so God never feels unfamiliar or distant in your life So there you have it Thank you for reading
