Life is the only teacher who is independent of certain boundaries. We don’t need to have a proper building or place to learn from life. It requires no specific time and space. It teaches every minute, and everywhere with every breath we take.

Let me make my point clear through a social experiment I had in the last few weeks.

I am a gregarious person. Talkative and love to host people. Friends take every sitting like a normal session but I always take some pearls out of that discussion. One of my close friends was despondent about his time-wasting habits. He was worried about his social media handling. His facebook surfing was more than 50 minutes per day. It was all just entertainment stuff. Nothing productive. It wasn’t easy for him to log out or delete the app from mobile. We were five friends sitting together during this discussion. Everyone tried to offer him a different solution to come out from this panic situation. But nothing worked as other three had the same thing in common. Their Facebook surfing time was around 280 minutes per week.

The day was over. His discussion had knocked my mind. Next day I figured out my spending time on social media, especially on Facebook. I found out that unintentionally I spent 230 minutes on Facebook last week. It wasn’t productive time at all. I spent most of the time commenting on other’s posts. I didn’t read any article and watched zero personal growth lectures. It was all wasted in my definition of time. I realized that my that friend is not alone. We are many. Killing time is a common habit among us.

I faced the same level of difficulty in getting rid of this unuseful addiction. I deleted the app but installed again thinking that there are some good things to follow on Facebook just like media news about current corona pandemic. I logged out it from my mobile so entering the password each time will keep me away from it as typing password, again and again, is itself a hectic task. I was failed. Time was reduced but not at a satisfactory rate as we are prone to see mobile time to time and needs something to get on it.

Then I come up with this idea. Rearranging the apps in mobile and keeping Medium and Facebook icon parallel helped me out. I kept Facebook logged out but on one click to sign in again without entering the password. Now as being addicted to using mobile, whenever I took mobile and tried to open Facebook the Medium icon get my attention diverted. It increased my efficiency in reading Medium articles. I just diverted my mobile using addiction from Facebook to Medium.

Important point Alert:

In our next gathering, I asked my other friends about their Facebook usage time. Their answers make my point valid. Everyone had more or less the same timing on Facebook usage. As I said life teaches a lesson at every breath we take but we don’t get it. My friends Facebook addiction story focused my attention on my time management and I got productive outcome from it. I increased my Medium articles reading capacity through the time I saved from random Facebook surfing. But, the rest of my friends were standing in the same position. They didn’t notice that life provided them with an opportunity to think about. They ignored it and stayed there. I caught that moment and get ahead.

Why am I telling this?

Purpose of writing this is to make readers think about every moment of life. As I said earlier

Life is a teacher. It requires no space and time to teach. It teaches with every breathe we take.
