The Dream Lost
What it feels like to not live your dream

Even if you give up on your dreams and settle in a life of mediocrity, the gnawing "regret" of what life otherwise could have been, or, what person you could be, is something you need to carry for the rest of your existence.
It started with a race With different visions, same goals and somewhat a similar pace She was headed by her own dreams earlier, Enlightening heart, resolute mind, designated career. It was then when she was ordered loud To rush with the crowd Firm mind turned undetermined Dreams far left behind. Even in an attempt to keep her persona maintained, She never forgot the pure bliss she would otherwise have gained. She found her life eclipsed When realised it was to what the society considered crucial Her dream actually slipped. Time and again she kept her dream book's leaflets swiped Apparently ending up having tears unwiped. In the middle of the ruthless city noise, She was unable to hear to her heart's voice, And kept wondering Whether her heart stopped answering. When the world left her isolated She felt more helpless Intuitions, she again failed to express. She finally stood up Letting go of all the pains that arrived As she knew struggle is the only way one can survive When reached to the summit of peaks She had everything success seeks The world thought it to be a great victory she got But wait, Her eyes still revealed the pain of the dream she lost!
