Domestic Abuse – The False Gender Narrative

In recent years, discussions surrounding domestic abuse have often centered on its impact on female victims, perpetuating the misconception that this issue exclusively affects women.

This skewed perspective has led to a concerning oversight of male victims of domestic abuse. By incorrectly framing domestic abuse as a gendered problem, society has inadvertently marginalised and downplayed the experiences of male survivors, resulting in limited awareness, support, and resources for those in need.

“You can please tell people that it was a fair fight, and see what the jury and judge thinks. Tell the world, Johnny, tell them, Johnny Depp, I Johnny Depp, a man, I’m a victim too of domestic violence.”

~ Amber Heard ~

Actress, Feminist, and #MeToo Movement activist.

It’s crucial to recognise that domestic abuse is not confined to any one gender and to advocate for a more inclusive approach that addresses the diverse range of victims and their experiences.

The Evidence

  1. In a society where everyone knows that women suffer from domestic abuse. However, in addition to the obvious reasons, a huge problem in our society is that we only care about the female victims. We actually incorrectly refer to domestic abuse as a gendered issue that predominantly affects women. As a result, very few people care about male victims of domestic abuse.
  2. In a society where on average 47% of domestic abuse is perpetrated by women against men (especially coercive control)… Last year in the US, 45% of the total number of perpetrators were men, and 54% were women… The numbers are similar in the U.K… Official statistics from many countries in the West show that, with the inclusion of psychological abuse, up to 70% of domestic abuse is perpetrated against men. In a society where almost 24% of all relationships had some violence, and half (49.7%) of those were reciprocally violent. In nonreciprocally violent relationships, women were the perpetrators in more than 70% of the cases. But that’s not the narrative you hear from Feminist organisations who blatantly lie about the statistics while actively rejecting a substantial and longstanding body of evidence that shows that women commit domestic abuse at similar or higher rates than men.
  3. In a society where male victims of domestic abuse are more likely to end up on the receiving end of false allegations of domestic abuse. Allegations that are used to get the upper hand during divorce or used to cut fathers out of the picture during child contact arrangements. For instance, we see the police given more powers like DVPOs to criminalise men with no evidence or legal due process. For instance, we see laws like Kayden’s Law or Clare’s Law being introduced that ensure mothers raising allegations during divorce will automatically get legal aid, the house, the assets, and full custody of the children with no need for evidence or legal due process.
  4. In a society where in the family law arena, domestic violence is used as a tool. In an arena where false allegations are a silver bullet and the best way to destroy your opponent and win the game … and women are encouraged to do this during separation and divorce… False allegations are commonly used as a tactic against men in the family courts, where they use reputation destruction, verbal attacks, gossip, and innuendo to further discredit and destroy you. In a society where (because of the incorrect and biased Norgrove Report and Duluth Model that were created and still promoted by ideological feminist organisations and used by the police, prosecution services, and courts) if you’re a man you’re likely to be arrested, jailed, convicted without legal due process in secret and Kafkaesque courts, fined, and issued with restraining orders because of false allegations against you (to secure legal aid, your home, your assets, and and to be denied proper contact with your children), even though it’s you being abused… The police, CPS, and the courts help to perpetrate the abuse by proxy. If you’re a male suffering from domestic abuse, there are no DV shelters or services for you… You’re far more likely to end up falsely criminalised, isolated, penniless, homeless, and a suicide statistic.
  5. In a society where domestic abuse against men is rarely talked about. Where domestic abuse against men happens more than any statistic shows because most male victims don’t come forward because society still continues to shame and ridicule them if they come forward as a victim of domestic abuse. Feminist inspired gender stereotypes make it difficult to view men as victims and women as perpetrators of domestic abuse. Female perpetrators tend to use different methods of abuse than men, often relying on psychological abuse, financial abuse, parental alienation, gaslighting, and manipulation. Male victims of abuse often feel isolated and outcast, making it difficult for them to come forward.
  6. In a society that only focuses on women as the victims of domestic violence and men as the perpetrators. In a society that ignores the facts about men suffering from domestic abuse despite all the evidence. For instance, the recent Harvard medical study that showed that woman are responsible for 70% of domestic violence. For instance the CDC report that shows 1 in 3 men will experience contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime.
  7. In a society where 1 in 4 men are victims of domestic violence. Where 1 in 6 boys have been molested by the age of 18. Official US statistics by the CDC in 2011 showed that 5,452,000 men were victims of domestic violence. The numbers are just as high in the U.K.
  8. In a society that shows a complete lack of recognition of, or assistance for, male victims of partner abuse. In a society where there are very few domestic abuse services for men. In a society where less than 1% of domestic abuse shelter spaces are available for men. Predominantly, these kinds of services cater for women only… Males are often turned away from and mocked by doctors, crisis centers, and the police when they attempt to get support for domestic abuse.
  9. In a society where male victims of domestic abuse and violence have hardly any domestic abuse hotlines and shelters. With the few services that are available to men, none are publicly funded. All public funds go directly to services that cater for women only. Unlike women, men don’t get things like paid leave if they are the victims of domestic abuse. Unlike women, there’s hardly any awareness campaigns for men suffering intimate partner abuse, including psychological, financial, and physical abuse.
  10. In a society where there’s little to no training for personnel dealing with men and boys facing domestic abuse. Including training for council authorities, judges, lawyers, social workers, psychologists, educators, doctors, etc.
  11. In a society where many academic and government statistics and studies only focus on women and girls as the victims of violence and domestic abuse, and men and boys as the perpetrators. Researchers generally follow the Duluth Model and only ask female participants about attacks from their partners, and only ask men about perpetration. Obviously, this means that many statistics and studies aren’t complete and don’t account for every variable; therefore the landscape of violence and domestic abuse is incorrectly biased against men and boys.
  12. In a society where campaigning for men to be recognised as victims of domestic abuse have been met with death treats. Where efforts to create shelters for abused men, raise awareness of male issues through media outlets, and to honor a day that raises awareness of men’s mental health have been met with condemnation, lack of support, and even death threats.
  13. In a society where women in lesbian relationships are far more likely to abuse their partner than men in heterosexual relationships, but society predominantly blames domestic abuse on men. Studies show that rates of abuse are higher among lesbians in their prior relationships with women than in their prior relationships with men: 56% had been subjected to sexual aggression by their female lovers, 45% to physical aggression, and 64.5% to emotional aggression. Another study found that levels of violence were higher among lesbians than among gay men: 47.5% of gay women reported violence in their relationships but only 22% of gay men. Moreover, 38% of the women reported using violence against their partners but only 22% of the men.”
  14. In a society where children are much more likely to be abused and murdered by their mothers. Statistically mothers (especially single mothers) are far more likely to abuse and murder their children than fathers are. In a society where 72% of all infant murders are committed by their biological mothers. However, society tends to look down and treat fathers with suspicion.
  15. In a society where boys aged zero to 17 incur almost double the risk of sexual assault than adult women do. However, you would not know this, from the way in which Western media covers sexual assault.

Conclusion

Lawmakers around the world are focusing more on the problem of domestic violence. However, the debate is often driven by feminists who many believe are motivated more by gender ideology than by science, where hundreds of research studies have been conducted around the world about the nature and causes of domestic violence:

  1. Male Victims: Summarising 343 scholarly investigations conducted in 40 countries, professor Martin Fiebert explains, “women are as physically aggressive as men (or more) in their relationships with their spouses or opposite-sex partners.”
  2. Same-Sex Couples: A review of research by Luca Rollè of the University of Torino reveals the lifetime prevalence intimate partner violence is 43.8% among lesbian women, compared to only 26% in homosexual men.
  3. Two-Way Violence: A recent analysis by Andreia Machado of Lusófona University in Portugal concludes, “bidirectional violence is the most common pattern of [domestic] violence.” Another study found that injury is far more likely when the violence is mutual (28%), compared to unidirectional (12%).
  4. Multiple Causes: Domestic violence is caused by a variety of factors such as alcohol abuse, mental health problems, and marital break-down.

But statements on feminist domestic violence websites veer dramatically from the science. The “Facts and Figures” page of UN Women, for example:

  • Ignores the existence of male victims of abuse.
  • Categorically denies the problem of abuse in lesbian relationships.
  • Obfuscates the two-way nature of many incidents.
  • Refuses to disclose the multiple causes of intimate partner violence.

It is difficult to understand why organisations like UN Women does not care about lesbian women caught in abusive relationships with nowhere to turn; hides the fact that bidirectional abuse can often escalate to cause life-threatening injuries; and insists that domestic violence offenders be sent to ineffective treatment programs that are based on an unscientific and ideologically created “power and control” model (Duluth Model).

Feminist organisations like UN Women are not only dishonest in its portrayal of domestic violence, but the greater problem is the willingness to sacrifice the safety and well-being of domestic violence victims to the dictates of gender ideology.
