The Diarist Entry: What’s On The Page For 2024?

First up, happy new year! It’s the first day of January 2024. I imagine like me you have a fresh new diary to write in, possibly even a new pen, pencil, a highlighter or two? Mmm… thought so.
As we start the year week two of the fifty-two weeks The Diarist entry prompts for this Monday is:
- What are your plans, goals, dreams, and aspirations for 2024?
- Or write an open letter to your future self, based on what you hope to be happening ( or happen) in your life — this year in 2024.
I know this seems so unoriginal as it’s the start of a new year. That said, if I know anything about diarists — we love to plan out what’s ahead, on the page! So tell me at this key time of the year when we're all reflecting, hoping to manifest, and looking at the road ahead: what do you plan to (try) to commit to, or will write down on the first pages of your new diary for 2024?
What’s the one thing or things you hope for, for yourself, family, a loved one, situations, people, places, or things important to you?
How to submit your entry:
It’s an open question, take it how it resonates and apply it as you feel fit to you and your diary entry. If you wish to submit a diary entry to us, check out the submission page for full details here on this link.
For previous Diarist entry prompts check out here on this link. You’re welcome to submit responses to these too.
The Diarist is the place where essays, journal prompts, reflections, day-to-day experiences, and deep thoughts are shared and celebrated. Diary writers from all walks of life, and every corner of the world tell their stories one thought at a time, in a classic diarist style.
What are you plans, goals, dreams, and aspirations for 2024?
Can’t wait to read your entry!
Bonus: Haiku me this!
I love… wait no, adore the Japanese form of poetry Haiku, since it’s a new year and the road is open for this year, take a look at this picture of an open road — what comes to mind? Can you write a Haiku from this imagery?

If you’re unsure what Haiku is, or how to start with this kind of three line poetry, check out these links if you’re up for this week’s The Diarist bonus challenge:
Thanks for your readership, I hope my writing gave you something to think about. If I’ve caught you in a good mood or you’re feeling kind, you can buy me a herbal tea here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/MeAndMyMuse.
