REFRESH THE SOUL | WRITING PROMPT WEEK 17–23 OCTOBER
The Day the Two Lovers United and Unleashed a Storm Never Seen Before
Nature Becomes a Metaphor of Lovers

Her waters lay still in an endless sea of hopes, dreams, and possibilities.
The surface reflected the bright blue of the horizon while the cool breeze barely dared to touch that surface to carefully caress it.
Gently the sun kissed the blue element and hardly noticeably the water let go a part of itself….
Day after day, the water surrendered to the sun, and in a loving dance, the sky slowly took on the color of the deep sea as it drank from her oceans.
She filled him with life.
And what once was silent became deeply touched by its emotions until the sky could stand it no longer and shed its first tear.

The tear fell.
And when it rejoined the water, the surface of the sea shook.
Shattered was the mirror and the horizon, which had lost its blue, burst into tears.
The sea rained down, and amid confused winds, all boundaries blurred. And what once dared not touch flared up into a storm. Foolhardy, it challenged the waters.
The deep sea-colored sky became one with the sea.
And succumbing to the power of the storm, the waters reared up.
The ocean sighed with pleasure, and the sky did the same in electrifying ecstasy.
And the firmament’s tears rained down. They carried the dreams of the sea, which the sun had once lured from her.
The sky trembled. The water cried and sighed.
Together they loved each other in their pain and their pleasure and they let the world drown in their passion…. releasing hope anew.

The air was filled with the scent of sweet love while the taste of bittersweet desire lingered for a long time.
The storm had subsided. The horizon cleared and shone in its most beautiful blue. The waves fell silent and reassembled the mirror.
A warm sunbeam ventured a sneaky peek into the lovers’ chamber and smiled.

This was my contribution to the ‘Refresh the Soul’ writing prompt: week 17–23 October by Nancy Blackman, MASF.
