The Day the Mourning Stops
A Poem of Change

As many seasons change and go,
Many tomorrows came to find you gone.
So much you had to live for,
So many more years to go forth,
So much more love yet to share,
So many words we did not say.
Emptiness and memories came with the morrows,
Fill our hearts with painful grief,
Drowning our souls in oceans of sorrow.
Only yesterday did the mourning stop;
When we saw you upon a cherub,
On wings of eagles in the wind,
Through heavenly gates with angels and cherubim
In God’s presence with Christ by His right.
No more longing for the past,
For today will always last;
Remember the joyous moments of your love
And our intimate moments of loving joy;
The matchless beauty of your face,
So full of love and grace,
Drives the compassion in your heart,
Surpassing the graciousness in your soul.
God took us on His missions by His side,
To journey with Him to eternity’s end
Where there are no more tomorrows;
To His promise to unite us,
At the end of days after the morrows,
In His Kingdom that will never end.
