Prison security
The day my wife went to prison.
She was surprised by the security she encountered there
A few years ago, one of my stepson’s friends got into trouble and was enjoying some hospitality at Her Majesty’s pleasure while waiting for his trial.
My stepson said he would like to visit his pal and asked his mum if she would go with him.
My wife, being a kind of person, also thought the prisoner could do with some moral support. I am not so liberally minded. I grew up with people who chose crime as their occupation, so my sympathies are with the victim rather than the criminal.
Also, I have been in a prison, but that was in Kansas City and is another story.
On my wife’s return from her prison visit, I asked her how things went.
“Oh, not too bad,” she replied, “but you should see the security you have to go through when you go in. You would find it really hard to get out. “
I don’t think she quite grasped the concept of incarceration.
