The Darkness Stole My Voice
The last few months have been difficult. It’s tough to write anything of substance. Sometimes it seems the world is too big for my words. I wonder how my scribblings can do it justice. It seems too big for the pen, pad, or computer screen.
However, as writers, our mission is to blend letters and syllables to explain what’s going on? Isn’t part of our DNA to try and find some light and offer it to our readers? Right now, it’s dark across the globe as COVID- 19 eats and destroys families. With no remorse, it leaves tears and absence in its wake.
I was in the darkness. My words ran from me, and my inspiration jumped off the highest cliff. Lost, I was in a dark forest looking for a parchment that felt I was worthy. I would go back and forth, trying to find my voice, but alas, I was wordless.
However, the POTUS’s COVID antics, the death of a cinematic and real-life hero, and a travesty of justice for black women provided me a trail out of the darkness.
I had to say something. I was compelled by the writing gods to speak. I owe it to my followers. They hit the follow button, and that, in my opinion, carries a particular responsibility. My latest work is below.
When Chadwick Boseman died I had to make a statement about his legacy.

The verdict in the Breonna Taylor case really shook me. I am the father of an African American daughter and I immediately thought could have been her.

The POTUS deals in death. He has witnessed over 225,000 thousand people die on his watch.

I hope you enjoy the work. I try to give you my best. As I stated earlier followers take the time to read my work and I must give the best I can.
Thanks for reading. Peace.
