Abstract

The article "The Dark Truth Behind 'Get Rich Quick with AI' Schemes" delves into the widespread excitement and misconceptions about making money with AI. It highlights the prevalence of AI in everyday life, from virtual assistants to the recent buzz around ChatGPT. Despite the surge in interest, with searches for AI money-making methods skyrocketing, the article cautions that most AI side hustles, such as selling AI-generated art or using AI for content creation, often fail to deliver significant profits. It points out the challenges of monetizing AI art, the limitations of AI writing in engaging audiences, and the mixed success of AI trading bots. The author concludes that while AI can supplement income, it is not a guaranteed path to wealth and should be used in conjunction with personal skills and realistic expectations.

Opinions

  • AI side hustles are often overhyped and do not guarantee quick wealth.
  • Selling AI-generated art is difficult due to market saturation and personalization preferences.
  • AI writing lacks the human touch, which affects its ability to attract and retain readers for ad revenue.
  • AI-driven YouTube channels struggle with audience engagement and subscription rates.
  • AI trading bots have limitations in their analytical capabilities, which can restrict their profitability.

Lots of people are talking about new ways to make money using AI.

You may have seen YouTube videos or ads promising that AI can make you rich quick.

But are these AI side hustles too good to be true?

So, let’s take a closer look at why you should not believe that everything you see online can make you successful.

AI is Everywhere Already

AI is not as new as some people may think.

We already use AI all the time. Siri, Alexa, and other smart assistants use AI.

Many chatbots and virtual agents that help you online also use AI.

But a new AI tool called ChatGPT, released in December 2022, got a lot more people excited about AI.

Over one million people started using ChatGPT in the first week alone!

People are using ChatGPT and other AI to write emails, songs, school assignments, and even funny fake news stories.

This made many wonder — what else could AI do for us?

And could we use it to make money?

Searches for “make money with AI” shot up 2,500% between December 2022 and July 2023.

Everyone wanted in on the AI gold rush!

Many AI Side Hustles Sound Too Good to Be True

So what are some ways people try to make money with AI?

Here are a few examples:

  • Having an AI create art, then trying to sell it
  • Using AI to write articles and making money from ads
  • Getting an AI to write a bestselling book for you
  • Creating YouTube videos with AI-made scripts, voiceovers, and thumbnails
  • Using AI trading bots to automatically invest your money

These all sound amazing!

Just have the AI do the hard work while you relax and collect the profits.

But it’s not that simple.

Most of these AI side hustles don’t deliver on their big promises.

The Problems with Making Big Money from AI

Trying to sell AI art is very tough. Most people would rather get custom AI art made themselves than buy it from someone else.

Im trying selling AI art for more then 7 months but made almost no money (around 15 euro on Etsy)

It’s also hard for AI writing to attract and keep an audience that brings in lots of ad money.

AI writing often sounds boring or odd compared to human writing.

And readers these days, can already tell something is missing.

The same goes for AI-powered YouTube channels.

People might watch some videos, but they rarely subscribe or engage much with channels that rely completely on AI.

And while AI trading bots can make you some profit, they can’t guarantee huge success. At the end of the day, they are limited in what they can analyze when deciding what assets to trade.

The Reality of AI Side Hustles

So does this mean all AI side hustles are useless?

No. You can probably make some money from them. Just don’t expect to get rich quick.

Your AI art might sell to a few people. Some of your AI articles could bring in a little revenue.

An AI YouTube channel could get some views and subs. And an AI trading bot can help grow your investment portfolio a bit.

But so far, relying only on AI is unlikely to make you a fortune.

Use AI tools wisely alongside your own skills and effort.

And have realistic expectations of what is possible right now.

The money-making potential of AI will likely keep growing.

But AI alone probably won’t make you super wealthy overnight.
