The Dance of Freedom
A Heartfelt Poem
Does she not dance unfettered?
Making fools of us all,
making us trip,
giggling as we fall.
I am looking for you dear
why hide?
I know you see me
Do I bear false tears?
What shall I say, beloved?
Stop, slow down.
Don’t leave me behind.
I was going straight,
towards the sun.
I was going straight,
looking for someone.
Why do you glance sideways?
Why do you hide under bridges?
in alleyways.
You show up unexpectedly.
You, my heart better,
but why never stay?
even for a breath.
I realize slowly,
It is I who am yours.
I can never claim you,
nor ever shall you relinquish me.
I am on my way to you, dear.
One of us must tire first,
Or death reunite us.
