‘The Dam Has Begun to Break’ Says Cheney, as More Evidence Emerges
Liz Cheney discloses that investigations continue through August

If you’re interested in U.S. politics, you were no doubt watching television on January 6th, 2021. The electoral votes were being counted, and Trump worked to stop the proceedings.
If you’re like me, you were screaming at the screen when you heard President Trump encourage his mob to march on the U.S. Capitol.
And if you’re like me, you worried and paced as you saw the mayhem taking place, as all the Proud Boys and rioters broke windows, killed Capitol police, and put up a gallows to hang Mike Pence.
It was worse than 9/11. It was an attack on the USA from the inside, horrific and reprehensible.
Tonight’s 9th episode of the January 6th Hearings is quite a show, and I could hardly wait to view it.
New evidence has been discovered, so we can expect to be hearing more information in September 2022, according to Liz Cheney’s introduction to January 6th hearings today. Cheney says “the dam has broke,” and apparently, more Americans will step forward to share information.
With additional people coming forward to disclose information about the vicious attack on the Capital building January 6th, we will continue to view investigation findings. — Liz Cheney
Today’s hearing focuses on what President Donald Trump did during the rioting at the US Capitol on January 6th.
Mostly he watched TV
From 1:25 until 4:00 P.M., Trump watched TV in the dining room near the Oval Office.
In today’s hearing, we learn first what he didn’t do
- He didn’t make phone calls to the attorney general
- He didn’t make phone calls to homeland security
- He didn’t contact the National Guard
- He didn’t contact the Department of Defense
What was Trump doing? He was calling senators to ask them to delay certifying. He wasn’t protecting senators and staff doing the work of certifying the election results. He wasn’t responding to the crazy rioters killing Capitol police force staff.
‘His behavior was indefensible,” said Liz Cheney tonight in the final televised hearing.
The certification was procedural at that point, of course.
Let’s see, what else?
- We learned on the televised hearings tonight the president also called Rudy Giuliani. We don’t know what the discussion was.
At 1:49, As D.C .Police declared a riot.
A 2:24 P.M. tweet from President Trump called VP Mike Pence a coward.

At that time, the rioters on the nation’s capitol building were yelling to hang Mike Pence.
Judd Deere condemned the tweet: “it wasn’t the message we needed at the time.”
Cassidy Hutchinson: “I remember feeling frustrated, disappointed, and it felt personal. It was really sad. As an American, I was disgusted. It was unpatriotic. It was unamerican. We were watching the Capitol building get defaced over a lie.”
After 4:00 P.M., he told the rioters to go home. In his speech on that horrible day, here’s what he said.
“I know your pain, I know your hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election and everyone knows it, especially the other side. But you have to go home now, we have to have peace, we have to have law and order, we have to respect our great people in law and order. We don’t want anybody hurt. It’s a very tough period of time. There’s never been a time like this where such a thing happened where they could take it away from all of us. From me, from you, from our country. This was a fraudulent election, but we can’t play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So, go home. We love you, you’re very special. You’ve seen what happens, you see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home, and go home in peace.” — President Trump, speaking on TV to rioters in the Capitol on January 6th
There is a lot of information to review and consider, but mostly, I gather from viewing the final episode that Donald Trump took no action while Americans were being attacked at the Capitol.
He wanted to stage a political overthrow, and anyone who thinks otherwise probably won’t be at my next Thanksgiving dinner.
I fervently hope that Trump’s political power is extinguished soon, and forever.
