Summary

The website provides daily writing prompts for November, focusing on poetry on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, fiction on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a Weekend Challenge.

Abstract

The undefined website introduces a new structure for writing prompts in November, with a specific focus for each day of the week. Poetry prompts are offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while fiction prompts are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The weekends are reserved for a special Weekend Challenge. The first poetry prompt of the month is to write a haiku with the theme of 'JOURNEY.' The haiku has no line length restrictions, encouraging writers to explore the form freely. The prompts are designed to challenge writers while also allowing flexibility for creative expression. The editor, Ravyne Hawke, encourages writers to engage with the prompts promptly and to also consider the Monthly Theme.

Opinions

  • The editor suggests that the restrictions in the prompts are meant to challenge writers.
  • The flexibility in the poetry form (specifically the haiku) is intended to encourage writers to experiment, possibly with a series or chain of haikus.
  • The editor emphasizes the importance of enjoying the writing process.
  • The mention of the Monthly Theme implies that there is additional context or inspiration available for writers who wish to engage more deeply with the prompts.

Welcome to the month of November! We are going to shake things up a bit, but then, what’s new about that, right? On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I will offer poetry prompts. On Tuesday and Thursday, I will offer fiction prompts. Saturday and Sunday’s prompt will be the Weekend Challenge only. So without further adieu, let’s get on with November’s prompting!

Today’s Poetry prompt

Write a haiku with ‘JOURNEY’ as the theme.

Poetry Form — haiku Line Length — Any (no restriction here in case you want to write a series or chain) Restrictions — poetry form

‘Restrictions’ are to challenge you as a writer. However, with everything else here at PW, use these prompts in any way that allows the creative juices to flow.

Write promptly and enjoy! And don’t forget about the Monthly Theme!
