Summary

The article "The Curious Case of Three Sisters" explores the dynamic of three sisters who maintain their familial connection through the internet and social media, despite leading separate lives.

Abstract

The narrative delves into the lives of three sisters, with Sister 1 and Sister 2 sharing an intimate bond, often learning about each other's experiences through social media posts. Sister 3, while believing she is equally close, remains somewhat distant from their day-to-day stories. The sisters' relationship is deeply rooted in their love for storytelling, with Sister 1 and Sister 2 finding solace in writing and reading, while Sister 3 copes differently. The quarantine life has intensified their need for connection, with Sister 3 missing her routine and social interactions, finding comfort only when she shares her stories with her sisters. The article suggests that the internet has become a pivotal means for the sisters to stay connected, bridging the gap between their disparate lifestyles and emotional expressions.

Opinions

  • The author implies that social media plays a significant role in how Sister 1 and Sister 2 communicate and understand each other's lives.
  • There is an underlying sentiment that Sister 3, despite being part of the family, is somewhat isolated from the depth of connection that Sister 1 and Sister 2 share.
  • The article conveys a sense of admiration for the written word, as it is personified as a vessel for the sisters' emotions and experiences, particularly for Sister 1 and Sister 2.
  • The quarantine period has affected each sister differently, with Sister 3 feeling the impact of isolation more acutely than her siblings.
  • The author seems to appreciate the internet's role in fostering familial connections, especially in times of physical separation.
  • There is a subtle hope expressed that Sister 3 will eventually open up and share her personal stories with her sisters, rather than just the stories of her daughter.

The Curious Case of Three Sisters

about stories shared and kept within

I couldn’t think of any other title for this, this story is about three sisters who are perfectly lost in their world, this story is about those stories which never reach, this page is about those words which are shared when home is quiet or which are written for strangers, this story is about that family which is more connected now thanks to the god called Internet.

Sister 1 and Sister 2 are very close, they share stories with each other and what they don’t get to know, they get to read on each other’s social media that’s how the sisters know who cooked what or didn’t cook, who had a mental breakdown or who cried at 12 in the night and wrote before sleeping or who didn’t wrote because the words would have told everything.

Sister 3 thinks she is close to both Sister 1 & Sister 2 but she doesn’t get to know anything about their life, because most of the stories land on social media in a quiet away, Sister 3 is busy in her happy life, she has means to cope with her stress and anxiety unlike the other two sisters who take it all on the poor paper, the paper is murdered each day, the stories are buried beneath the India ink when the home quiet under the whispering stars and the blue moon.

The other reason Sister 1 and 2 are like this is because of books, they read a lot, for now their quarantine life is all about the unread books and the writings in their mind, for now they are content to be trapped in their home which has become a cave but Sister 3 is restless.

She is not liking it all because she is missing her daily dress up thing for office and her extrovert life. The only time Sister 3 feels good is when she picks up her phone and calls her up sisters to share her stories, that’s the only way she knows how to let go.

Sister 1 and Sister 2 are waiting for sister 3 to start sharing her stories too maybe one day she will but they are hoping it’s not her daughter’s stories.
