The Curiosity Pill

Strange things were happening in the world.
People who had been perpetually ill-tempered and morose suddenly became enthusiastic and energized.
They began projects that earlier would have seemed beyond their inclination and abilities.
It all began with “Curiosity,” a new over-the-counter supplement that had recently hit the market.
It wasn’t cheap, but based on the results it produced, well worth the $79.99 for a 30-day supply of little blue and white capsules.
All one had to do was take one capsule before bedtime with a glass of unsalted tomato juice.
It produced strange and wonderful dreams of far off and exotic lands and people.
Then, when a person woke up from such a dream, his or her curiosity about their dreamscapes became so overwhelming that it caused them to pack their bags and begin new journeys to far off lands like those they experienced in their dreams.
More people came under the influence of the Curiosity supplement and started taking trips.
Meanwhile, the travel industry noticed the huge uptick in bookings for exotic travel.
When they realized that the Curiosity pill was the genesis of the trend, they invested heavily in the new start-up company that had invented the pill. They also bought a huge supply of the pills, selling them at a discounted price to travel agents across the land. They also distributed price-saving coupons for unsalted tomato juice.
Now, every travel agent was granted carte blanche to give out free bottles of “Curiosity” pills to current and potential clients, along with a free bottle of unsalted tomato juice.
Years later as space travel became more affordable for the average family, humankind, fortified with the Curiosity supplement and unsalted tomato juice, began its longest journey that would eventually populate the universe.
