Hello friends,

I was going to a picnic. I was quite excited. All our friends gathered together. We were going to a farmhouse. The idea of the picnic was not the usual one of only playing games and enjoying ourselves. It was something deeper than that.

It was to do some wise thinking. We went for a session of meditation. We were invited by the organizers to a round domed-shaped roof of the room.

The moment I entered the room, I felt full of positive vibrations,

There was peace and quiet all around us. The grass was even and well cared for. It was lush green. I could see from the large windows.

The process of meditation

We were told in our meditation session to sit by taking a back rest and be comfortable. Then we were asked to close our eyes. Now the instructor said to be aware of the sounds around us.

“If you hear the sound of traffic, a grassmower, people talking outside. horses neighing, dogs barking, cats mewing be aware of these sounds and how you feel” he repeated.

I strained myself to hear sounds but I could not hear anything unusual. Slowly I heard the breeze gently rustling through the branches of trees. Then I also heard the sound of the fan around me.

I thought to myself that these sounds were interesting. One was external to our beautiful nature and the other was inside the room and directly above my head keeping me comfortable and happy.

I just sat like that for some moments and I heard the instructor speaking again. He said,

“Meditation is not the act of doing something but instead it is doing nothing”.

There is nothing called the act of doing meditation.

“Close your eyes and sit with an empty mind. Let your thoughts fleet in and out and keep observing them. Our minds are like little devils they give us some wild thoughts but you tame them and make them civil”

He told us to be still for some time and say in our minds,

“I am healthy, I am happy, I am doing nothing, I want nothing.”

This is exactly how we followed our instructor seriously.

He then made us aware of each part of our body starting with the feet, going on to the thighs, back, every part of the spine, back of the neck, arms, stomach, front of the neck, throat, face, and head.

This was such a beautiful feeling. I had done this all so many times at home but my mind played tricks with me and I never felt so comfortable and peaceful.

The dynamics of group meditation are quite different. The feeling of connecting through community gathering, the diverse nature of people, and the vibrations of each individual present over there made it very spiritual and enjoyable.

This was truly a great experience. We were given 5 minutes to be with ourselves and keep our eyes closed. After that to open our eyes and go out on the farm and enjoy ourselves.

We formed into small groups and went in the fresh air but most of us remained quiet and were busy reflecting inwards.

The colorful surprise

Looking around and enjoying the peaceful farm, I saw the animals were playing with each other even though they were so diverse and they were not disturbing each other.

I thought human beings in this group were also from different states of India and overseas but everyone was at peace. So diverse and similar too. I also noticed that there were no distinctions. Christians, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Jains were all together. This was truly refreshing.

The vibrations after meditation make the environment joyful encompassing positivity in life as everyone wants to live, love, and laugh with each other.

Just when I was in my thoughts, I noticed a very colorful plant and I clicked the picture because it made me so joyful to see so many colors of flowers in a single plant.

Notice the colors. The flowers are white, yellow, orange, pink and purple. this is indeed very rare. There was a discussion as to whether this plant had been engineered or was natural.

The gardener told us that it was either birds, animals on the farm, or wind pollination. They had no hand in it at all. I have seen two color ones on a bush called Mary Palmers for whatever reason I don’t know but they are usually pink and white.

I was quite taken aback when I saw this beautiful flowering Bougainvillea. Only once before I had seen a multicolored one and it was not so beautiful and refreshing. I could not keep my eyes away and for a long time kept looking at it. I found that many others were also fascinated by this plant.

I am sure the plant in this picture is making you as happy as it made me when I saw it.

Look at the diverse colors. They exist together and they are happy smiling and growing together. Look at them and see the spiritual, positive, and peaceful joy.
