The Chinese Invasion of Africa.
The headline of this article may appear like it is a recount of history when unfortunately this article is set in current times. In this article I will factually state my views about the downfall of the Asian population in Africa.
I want to start off by noting China has had a presence in Africa since 1949 when the People’s Republic of China presented themselves as allies of Africa with their promises to help advance and liberate the continent. Like all other colonizers, they came to oppress and to steal from the people. I will give the leaders of Africa at that time the benefit of the doubt. They could have imagined they came to help the growth of the country. I know better!!!
What can China gain from Africa?
Those who are walking around with their eyes wide shut or in a state of oblivion are wondering… What could China possibly want from Africa? If Africa and its people don’t wise up, China has everything to gain from Africa!!! They are currently gaining the country! Debt, mining and slave labor are the tools they are using to take over the country. The construction of rail lines, government buildings, and other non necessity infrastructure development, which employs few Africans but creates jobs for Chinese immigrants. The Africans who are employed are paid low wages and are forbidden to go home to their families. The leaders of African countries like Sudan, Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Angola have fallen for their tricks, resulting in monetary debt to China for billions of dollars.
These Chinese come to Africa and engage in illegal mining. The resources sought out are gold, petroleum, diamonds, and tantalum. They go into the villages of the African countries and dash a little money to its residents to keep quiet. The Asian colonizers are employing children as young as 5 years old to work alongside adults day and night. The small amount of money earned is not enough for school fees, clothing, it’s barely enough to feed the family for a week. Yet these children die mining for these resources. Resources that are shipped out of the continent to other countries. While the thieves get rich, the continent and its people get nothing in return.
When we cut off the head of corruption, the body will die.
Let’s be honest! China is no longer secretly stealing the resources of Africa. They have blatantly stated their intentions and the leaders of Africa are willing participants. African leaders Abdalla Hamdok, Denis Sassou Nguesso, Uhuru Kenyatta, Sahle- Work Zewde, Emmerson Mnangagwa and others are not oblivious to the true intentions of the Chinese they are choosing to sit on their hands. The leaders in Africa are lining their pockets, they live lavish lifestyles and send their children to the best European Universities at the expense of the African people. They are selling out their own people and turning a country that should be a superpower into a country begging for crumbs from the table the continent has constructed. If Africa does not purge itself of these useless men in leadership positions, Mother Africa will be a debilitated country owned by the oppressors of other countries.
Africans and Diasporic Africans, we have sat on our hands, begged, pleaded and shouted enough. The time to stand up and to take action is now! Let’s not wait for leaders, presidents, governors, and chiefs to decide what happens next. They have made it clear they don not have the best interest of the people and the continent at heart. For our future and the future of our children and grandchildren, it’s time to purge the disease infecting Mother Africa. We can stand alone and be self-sufficient. Open your eyes!!! The outside world needs Africa more than Africa needs the outside world.
