Summary

The article argues that true fulfillment comes from internal self-work rather than external achievements or possessions.

Abstract

The pursuit of material wealth and external validation is portrayed as a misguided attempt to fill an inner void. The article suggests that society's obsession with money, fame, and awards is a superficial solution that fails to provide lasting happiness or satisfaction. It emphasizes that genuine joy and a sense of importance cannot be attained through external means such as buying the latest items, gaining social media followers, or receiving accolades. Instead, the author posits that enlightenment and inner peace are achieved through introspection and alternative healing methods, which rewire the brain towards a state of contentment that external possessions and achievements cannot replicate.

Opinions

  • Acquiring wealth is a false promise that leads to greed and a loss of passion for one's craft.
  • Material possessions provide only temporary pleasure and do not lead to genuine happiness.
  • The pursuit of fame is an incorrect method to feel significant, as it is based on external validation rather than internal fulfillment.
  • Awards for doing what one loves can inflate the ego and ultimately detract from the purity of the craft.
  • True enlightenment and contentment come from internal work, such as meditation or other forms of alternative healing, rather than external achievements.
  • The societal pressure to conform to certain standards of success is a distraction from the path to true happiness.

The Chase of Feeling Full Within Your Life

Many believe the outside will fix the inner parts of their souls

Many claim that you may find fullness within your soul by acquiring funds within your bank account. If you have many zeros in your balance, all of your worries will leave you.

The false hope makes society greedy, chasing numbers, believing it's the right thing to do to find some relief within your soul. Then the greed makes you not compassionate; you lose your passion for your craft, then you only chase the cheque at the end of the day.

When your eye looks at your balance, that doesn't rewire your brain so that you may feel joyful afterward. Perhaps it gives you some sense of pride; however, vanity leaves every time you wake up the next day feeling the same you did previously without giving you relief.

You start buying things, believing things will somehow make you feel full; perhaps some item you saw will make you feel better. The advertiser's job is to trick you into thinking if you purchase something, you'll feel happier.

Several chase the newest items each year, mainly because they receive a serotonin spike whenever they purchase something new; your dopamine levels increase; therefore, you feel joyful. However, you need to understand that joy is fake; it isn’t real. Your voice inside your head is tricking you, believing this is the right way towards happiness.

Then, the next day, after your purchase, you feel the same as before you got your new item. Then later, you start looking for something to make you feel complete again; it could be another most recent or luxury item to showcase your status as an alpha.

Also, many purchase items to show off in front of their peers, believing the appreciation they receive from having this item will make them superior. Especially things with high price tags will give them a sense of richness with wealth because of the item they acquired.

Then you have the type of souls that try to reach fame as fast as possible, as if numbers on your social media account will give you joy from the inside. Perhaps you believe if many give you compliments, it will give you a sense of attention, so you start feeling significant.

Each soul is essential; every living being has the right to feel important about their existence; however, trying to mimic that with fame isn't right. Understanding the feeling of importance may be created from the inside; by working on the inside, you don't need other people to give that kind of attention to make you feel necessary.

Plus, fame only exists because others don't understand how you pursue a particular profession, so they follow you, try to clone you, or perhaps they're jealous, so you see hate. If all beings had enlightenment, this whole fame thing wouldn't be a thing as everyone would be doing whatever the universe wanted them to do.

Then some souls do what they love doing; however, they chase trophies to give them a better sense of being. Here’s the thing about receiving awards for doing a craft you meant to do. It gives you an understanding that you’re better than anyone around you because you got a prize.

When you look closely at that behavior, you realize that's it quite strange for someone to have an award as all you receive is a trophy, a few claps, perhaps hugs, compliments, then attention for a week.

Awarding a soul for doing what they love is like giving a trophy to a fish for swimming in the water. It's in the fish DNS to swim, so you're giving another soul award for showing their talents to society instead of hiding them. You're providing pride to someone for them doing whatever their heart tells them to do, then afterward, if the ego receives a bump in the pride area, that person loses their talents as they're too full of themselves. Unfortunately, this fullness wouldn't make you feel better; you'll start thinking more in your mind then feel less.

As many know, fixing the empty sourness you feel isn't going to work if you try using the outside. Perhaps you'll feel better a little; however, that would be mostly your voice inside your head tricking you into believing this is the path for enlightenment.

You were once enlightened the second you left your mother's womb, then afterward, whatever nonsense the society, parents, friends, or media gave you is what you feel right now.

A simple meditation session will bring you closer to enlightenment than anything you see daily. Even some mushrooms that have some magic could help you rewire your brain. As long you're aware that chasing stuff from the outside will not repair you, that's the best thing you may know. Then start looking for alternative healing that will bring you back to inner peace.
