The Capitol Rioters Were ALL Posing A Threat
They unlawfully invaded the Capitol and caused havoc
Fencing went up around the Capitol after the insurrection.
Almost every law-abiding citizen of the United States would agree that the Trump supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, were posing a threat. Some of them were ready to cause death to lawmakers, including former Vice President Mike Pence, as they were certifying the election of Joe Biden to be President.
The rioters entered the Capitol illegally. They broke down doors and windows. They should not have been there in that manner and for the reason they were. They put many lives in danger and caused destruction of property.
Kevin Breuninger had a story on CNBC titled: She was posing a threat — Capitol officer who shot pro-Trump rioter Ashli Babbitt goes public.
After going unnamed for months, the officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt has come forward. He made public comments that Babbitt and the others were “posing a threat” to Congress.
The U.S. Capitol Police Department has said that it will not discipline the officer. After an internal investigation of the shooting, it was determined that the shooting was justified. Those who have seen the video would likely agree with that finding. The officer was doing his job while facing an unruly mob.
According to the report, the officer said these words: “I had been yelling and screaming as loud as I was, ‘Please stop, get back, get back.’”
He then said: “You’re ultimately hoping your commands will be complied with, and unfortunately they were not.”
The Capitol is peaceful now. Hopefully, the Trump rioters will not return.
News reports indicate that the officer and his family have received numerous threats because of the incident although his name was not made known until just recently.
Babbitt is touted as being an Air Force veteran. Why she made the choice to be at the Capitol on that day is puzzling. Obviously, she was a Trump fan who was following his directions. She did climb through an opening in a barricaded door. She was met by police and shot.
The family of Babbitt has said they will file a lawsuit against the police department and the officer. A Go Fund Me page for them has raised almost $100,000.
The police officer was doing his job on that fateful day in Washington, D.C. Now he is suffering for it because of Trump and his followers.
