The Candidate
Endless search

I search for you each day, I go to bed with you on my mind, When I wake up at dawn I hope to see you listed in my find.
I have been told by many, I have to just get down to it, I only need to give you time to be found, and that will be it.
‘ Keep working on it every day’ they say, ‘Don’t slack when there is no progress’, Presto! You will be there one day, You will show up ready for us.
This is how you were found by others too, Your type, your clan, and not just you.
Once I find you, The game is not done, This is just the first act, The story has only begun.
I need to let you grow on me, So we can make something to be. As much work as I did to find you, Much more I have to do to keep you.
Falling in love with you at first thought or sight, That is just the beginning. Growing what we have, That is work I must still do, Every moment is an inning.
Once we get to a point, Where I can show you to the world, I still have to headline what we have. Give you all the wardrobe you need, All the fittings and furnishings, Marketing you as something rare.
To present you to the world, No, to present us, Because we are a team. They see me through you, My success is the same as yours, Yours the same as my dream.
It is not over when I present us, I have to start all over again, So I keep searching for you every day. The end is only the beginning, You are a relentless master, Every day is a Groundhog day.
You are the topic, I chase and choose, In my world utopic, Who will be my muse?
