The Brain of Swiping Fingers

A poem

Image by Niek Verlaan from Pixabay

He is traveling in a bullet train. His fingers are swiping his smartphone faster than the speed of the train.

His swiping fingers jump from one app to another app in a flash; He scrolls in IG He scrolls in FB He has no time to like or love anything in this world.

His swiping fingers suddenly developed a brain which thinks faster than his brain inside the skull;

His swiping fingers brain does not let him speak to his daughter;

He is not allowed to eat without his smartphone;

He is not allowed to read a hard copy of a book;

He is allowed to mediate using a creepy app which “alerts” him every 10 minutes;

He is not allowed to “meet” his beloved ones on their birthday, his swiping fingers brain sent them a text with a cake emoji;

His world is shrunk inside his swiping fingers.

One day, while jumping from one app to another, His s.f.b(swiping fingers brain) sends an SOS to his wife. “Wife Calling” displayed on his smartphone; His swiping fingers brain is dead now. His last thoughts are travelling back to his childhood where he lived a real-life before the technology took over. Someone took his smartphone and the swiping fingers brain is reactivated.
