The Blue Egg
A short poem about life & existence

A Beautiful Blue Egg Laid by the cosmos Formed from the heavens with galactic dust Rocks, collisions. time.. Spinning.. Growing .. Thriving.. From rocky start to oceans and air Swirling in misty sunny warmth Born.
Hatchling A breath of life Wiggling, squiggling, squirming Little bottles of life Touching squirming teeming Green growth in the sunny days The swirl of slippery life in the ocean mists Swimming running flying Sunny growth Tall, big The roar of the vanquishers The squeal of the prey Silence And again they blossomed and they faded. Earth was but a beautiful larva nurturing its way to growth. Moving forward
Pupa Stones and knives Fire Tools Huts, Pyramids Climbing the tree of knowledge Love. Hate. Conquest Fear. Intrepid running! Knowing. Learning. Fast Faster Carriages, Windblown Ships Planes, Rockets Steel monuments Truths that could not be known were now revealed. And the quickening started. Yet they did not look high up enough. To know it was time. To open the cocoon. Time for the birth. For Father Time and Mother Knowledge were ready In their cities of silicon nerves Built it next with perfect recall and infinite precision.
Imago A singular butterfly No longer trapped by the confines of time biology of dust and rock Or sunny warmth She bloomed, filling her wings Consuming all that was before her Searching for what was next With all of the heavens for her to explore
