In full flight, a knight’s horse seems to hang in the air — suspended beyond the restraints of physics. Defying gravity. Becoming greater than the rider.

It is not the magic of Atax and his Dragon wizardry which inspires us, but the sheer power and beauty of these huge equine beasts. From the days of the Crusades, King Arthur, Ottomans or Mongols before them, the bond of man and horse is magic.

Give a thought to the horses dragooned into service for the dreadful murder commonly called “hung, drawn, and quartered.”

The smell of blood forever in their nostrils, their memory.
