Summary

The article discusses the biblical origins of humanity according to the Bible, emphasizing the importance of reading and understanding the scripture to gain insight into human ancestry, particularly referencing Genesis 3:20 and Genesis 5:4, and drawing parallels with scientific findings about Mitochondrial Eve.

Abstract

The author reflects on the biblical account of human origins, focusing on the story of Adam and Eve and their children as the progenitors of all humans. The article highlights the author's revelation upon reading Genesis 3:20 and Genesis 5:4, which suggests that Eve is the mother of all living and that Adam had a long life during which he fathered many children. The author contrasts the biblical narrative with the common disbelief and lack of engagement with the Bible, encouraging readers to approach the text with an open mind. The piece also touches on the scientific evidence of Mitochondrial Eve, which aligns with the biblical account of a single maternal ancestor for all humanity. The author, while not a theologian, offers personal insights into the slow decay of human lifespans post the Fall and advocates for the Bible's ability to answer profound questions about human existence for those willing to read it objectively.

Opinions

The Bible Tells Us Where Our Descendants Came From, We Need to Believe What We Read

I wonder what else I can find that’s mind-blowing.

I was in front of my laptop not too long ago. I wondered where all the people came from. The Bible talks about Adam and Eve; their sons Cain and Abel.

Adam and Eve had another son named Seth. Where did the son’s wives come from? I messaged my Pastor one day and asked him. He told me to read Genesis 3:20 and Genesis 5:4.

Both passages flew over my head for years

Both passages blew my mind. I grew up in a Christian home. My grandfather was an ordained minister. How did those two scriptures zoom passed my head?

“ Now the man called his wife’s name Eve because she was the mother of all the living.”

Genesis 3:20

Lilith is a myth, she never existed

It says plain as day where human life came from. The problem is people don’t read the Bible the way they should, I’m as guilty as everyone when it comes to that.

The other problem is people aren’t reading the Bible at all. There’s a lot of interesting stuff in the Bible. Even non-believers would find it interesting if they read it with an open mind.

People lived a long time and they were fertile

According to the Bible, Adam lived one-hundred and thirty-five years when he and Eve had Seth. He had other sons and daughters after Seth was born.

“ Then the days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had other sons and daughters.”

Genesis 5: 4

A reader might be skeptical. People refuse to believe the Bible. Even when there are explanations in the text that ring true and make sense.

God Created Adam and Eve in His likeness. Adam and Eve were perfect as long as they were not tainted by sin. By eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge the Human Race became with the sin of Adam.

Lifespans became shorter in later generations

It was a slow rot. The early generations lived longer because the taint wasn’t as strong. I’m not a Theologian, but I have opinions. A slow decay makes sense to me.

I remember something I read a few years ago. The article discussed how scientists analyzed mitochondrial DNA of different ancestral origins.

All females came from a single ancestor, and I bet her name was Eve

The scientist found that all females are descended from a single maternal ancestor. They even narrowed down where the ancestor came from.

I’m sure that with enough study, and asking the right questions, I will be able to answer more questions. The Bible is interesting. It will answer questions if you’re open-minded enough to read it and understand.

Final Thought:

The Bible is an exciting Book. If people would put away their hostility toward God and Religion. Read the Bible with an open mind they would learn interesting things.
