If you are thinking about self publishing books on Amazon KDP, it can be overwhelming to know where to start.

I have been publishing low, medium and high content books on Amazon KDP for nearly 3 years and I will highlight the best tools that can help you streamline your process and maximise your success. This list will include free and paid tools with affiliate links included.

Free Tools

Self Publishing Titans KDP Niche Research Chrome Extension

This is a free research tool that will summarise all the important numerical data in an easy to read table when you search for a niche on Amazon.

Data Provided By Self Publishing Titans | Screenshot By Author

You are provided with a keyword niche score that recommends whether you should target a keyword or not, a score of 50 or above means that you should definitely target a niche.

You are also provided with the total results, average best seller rank, reviews and price of the books listed. This will guide your judgement in making a decision to target a niche.

You want to focus finding keywords with a low number of results (1000 or lower) so that you are competing with less books and best sellers rank of 100,000 or under to ensure there is high demand for books created under that keyword.

AMZ Suggestion Expander

This is a keyword tool that expands the number of search suggestions shown in the Amazon search bar. It suggests further keywords that customers are searching for which makes finding keywords easy, saving you time.

ChatGTP

This is powerful AI Tool that provides assistance and useful information. ChatGTP is your virtual assistant as it generates responses when you ask it questions. I use it to get ideas for titles, sub-titles, pen names, descriptions and keywords.

This tool has been a game changer for speeding up my writing processes and idea generation. It is free to use but it also has a paid subscription for $20 per month.

Midjourney

This is another AI tool on the list however, Midjourney generates images through written text prompts. The more detailed prompt that you can provide then the closer it will generate the image that you ask it for. I use Midjourney to create coloring pages and children’s picture book scenes and characters.

You can create 25 images in the free version however you need a paid subscription in order to sell the images you create. Midjourney has various paid plans starting from $10 a month.
