The Best Runeblade Class Blitz Starter Deck for Flesh and Blood TCG

The best 100% common Runeblade class Blitz deck for beginners of Flesh and Blood

If you are looking for a great place to start in the Flesh and Blood TCG and want a great starter deck perfect for a beginner, look no further. In today’s guide, I showcase the best all-common starter Blitz deck for the Runeblade class and explain a little bit about my design philosophy. I’ll also show you some rare cards to look out for that can take this deck to the next level as you upgrade along the way. As a baseline, this deck will give you a great feel for how the Runeblade plays and showcase some of the mechanics of the class.

If you haven’t already and are new to Flesh and Blood, read my ultimate guide to picking a class to play to see what other classes may interest you if it turns out Runeblade doesn’t fit your playstyle as well as you would like. Keep an eye out for new or updated starter deck guides as new cards/classes are released into the game.

The items below will be updated and linked as I finalize the decklists and articles for the rest of these classes.

Because Light Warrior, Light Illusionist, Shadow Brute, and Shadow Runeblade have preconstructed Monarch Blitz decks for sale at $11.99 MSRP, I will not be creating starter deck guides for those class talents. In my opinion, those preconstructed decks are perfectly valid entry points into the game for new players.

My design philosophy for the best Flesh and Blood Runeblade class Blitz starter deck

  • $10 budget (excluding our 11 equipment cards and the hero token which you can expect to pay about $0.25 per piece.) $0.25 per card in the 40-card main deck.
  • All common rarity cards.
  • No Crucible of War cards until Unlimited print edition is released for the set. (For this decklist only, Consuming Volition (CRU) is included as it is available in the preconstructed Chane starter blitz deck and is cheaper than a typical Crucible of War first edition card.)
  • Deck composition and strategy should reflect class gameplay and ideals.
  • Simple and easy to understand with a clear path forward when upgrading.

The Runeblade seeks to combine powerful attacks with massive spikes of arcane damage through runechant tokens.

The Runeblade Blitz starter deck looks to deal massive spikes of arcane damage can’t be defended like normal. Oftentimes, you will be able to overpower and overwhelm your opponent's resources by staging a powerful runechant-enabled attack.

Plant the seeds of your opponent’s destruction and overwhelm them with arcane force.

Defend as needed, bide your time, and stack up runechant tokens.

Use Crown of Dichotomy to set up a powerful non-attack and attack action combo from your graveyard for your next turn. In addition, this equipment will protect you from other arcane damage from foes until you use it to set up a powerful combo. Combo it with the new Aether Ironweave from Monarch and you can gain two resources to pay for a finisher to your combo — all while having the ability to defend yourself without breaking your armor piece. In the common version of this deck, we rely on Rune Flash and Scar for a Scar as cheap(often free) attacks that give us ‘Go Again.’ to combo with the Aether Ironweave and Crown of Dichotomy.

  • If you go first, play Read the Runes into an arsenal to gain value while your opponent loses out on their initial card draw from going second.
  • Use cards Force Sight to enable Viserai’s and Nebula Blade’s ability and create extra runechant tokens.
  • Play cards like Read the Runes and Blood Spill Invocation to stack up a lot of runechant tokens to deal massive spikes of damage before the physical damage from your attack comes in.
  • Use defense reactions like Fate Foreseen, Reduce to Runechant, and Sink Below for powerful defenses while setting up for your next attack round.
  • Try to mix physical and arcane damage when attacking your opponent. At the very least, arcane damage represents a resource sink that they must pay to mitigate your non-physical damage.

There are numerous cheap and effective upgrades to this starter Runeblade Blitz deck. In general, these are the card slots that we want to drop as soon as possible to make way for some improvements. Many class-specific super rares and majestics will almost always be worth including in your deck if you have them.

But as a logical next step, here are some cards to ditch, and some cheaper rares to swap them with that will give you a big boost in power with a limited increase in cost.

Note, At the time of publication, many Crucible of War cards (even in common or rare rarity) are quite expensive since the Unlimited print run has not been released for this product yet. As it becomes available, many new cards will be available for Runeblade at a fraction of the cost the first edition versions are listed for right now.

Conclusion

I’m always available for help if you need some suggestions for upgrades to your starter deck, but this is the best 100% common Runeblade Class Blitz deck for beginners of Flesh and Blood and will allow you to experience the play style of the Runeblade.

You’re well on your way to annihilating your opponent with steel and magic as the Runeblade!
