The world has changed a lot for the man built to be a soldier. Captain America, otherwise known as Steve Rogers struggled to figure out his place in the world after coming out of the ice and landing in the modern world. It’s not really surprising that he would leave everything for the chance to be with the woman he loved. Of course, there’s plenty of people he left behind, most importantly his best friends from different eras.

Sam Wilson aka Falcon

I’ve always loved the second movie in the Captain America franchise. The Winter Soldier. Within the film we see Steve form a friendship with another soldier that’s struggling to join the real world, after the war. It is interesting that after Steve loses everything and finds everyone an enemy he turns not to the Avengers but to Sam. I think this is important because it shows that even though Steve is willing to fight at the side of Tony Stark, he is wary of going to him for assistance. Sam for his part, shows no problem in fighting alongside Captain America and Black Widow.

The fact that he has wings is a whole different level to warfare. I was always curious as to why The Falcon program was initiated. Sam and Steve initially bonded over the fact that they both lost a brother in arms. It is no surprise that Sam is the one to help Steve try to locate Bucky after he finds out that he is alive, and after the events of the film, on the run from Hydra and the police.

Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier

In the life of Captain America, he had one friend in the past, his friend Bucky that was less a friend and more of his family. On the streets of Brooklyn, Bucky saved him countless times from bullies or Steve Roger's own poor decisions. On the battlefield, Steve and Bucky were comrades in arms, an unbeatable team against the horror that was Hydra.

When Steve lost Bucky he felt as if the world had turned against him. The only thing he had in his life was the mission, but he had it in him to finish the mission no matter what. Years later when he awoke in the modern-day, the last thing he expected was to find Bucky in the grips of Hydra. Finding out that Bucky had been suffering for years at the hands of Hydra with no hope of escape. It was no surprise that he jumped at the shot at saving Bucky over joining his new friends, into the Accords.

Falcon & The Winter Soldier

In the wake of Captain America choosing to stay in the past with his lady love, the world has lost Steve Rogers in the modern era, much like how the world as they know it has lost Tony Stark. With that in mind, Sam and Bucky are left to pick up the pieces of life without Steve Rogers and the battle to keep his memory safe and make sure there is still a Captain America to keep the world away from the chaos.

I have always loved both Sam and Bucky, and I have been looking forward to finding out how their journey will truly end or begin as is the joy of Disney plus. The fact that Zemo is the one that is now in the crosshairs of both Sam and Bucky makes it even more interesting to see how their story will turn out, and if in the future their paths will coincide with the mischievous Loki. Or the world of Wakanda, that had been so kind to both Bucky and Captain America in the past.

While it is kind of ironic that Bucky and Sam now have to work together, as they have not been friends with each other in the past. In both Winter Soldier and Civil War, they fought each other and were considered enemies. While towards Infinity War and Endgame it seemed like they were becoming if not friends, at the very least comrades in arms, from what we have seen in the commercials leading up to the release of the new show Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we see that they are what you could consider comrades in arms. We’re sure to have some quirky moments in between the bouts of fighting, against Zemo and his many men trying to eradicate the heroes of the world.
