The Best Entrepreneur of the Early 1900’s and What Made Them Great
There have been many great entrepreneurs throughout history. However, the best entrepreneur of the early 1900s was undoubtedly Andrew Carnegie. He was a self-made man who came from humble beginnings and achieved incredible success. In this blog post, we will discuss what made him great and how others can emulate his success.
A great Entrepreneur was born
Andrew Carnegie was born in 1835 to a poor family in Scotland. At the age of 12, he and his family moved to America where he worked as a bobbin boy for $0.50 per week. Despite being poor himself, Carnegie had a strong work ethic and understood that hard work would pay off in the long run if he was patient.
In 1856, at the age of 21, Carnegie founded his first business, a telegraph company. He quickly realized that he could make more money by supplying equipment and services to other businesses instead of just providing them with communications. This was the beginning of his entrepreneurial mindset; he was always looking for new opportunities and ways to make money.
He always gave back
He was also known for being a philanthropist and giving back to society through his foundation, which still exists today! Carnegie gave away 350 million dollars during his lifetime and is one of the richest men in history with an estimated net worth of over $225 billion adjusted for inflation.
So, what made Carnegie such a great entrepreneur? Here are some of the key factors:
- He had a strong work ethic and was always willing to put in the hard work necessary for success.
- He was constantly looking for new opportunities and ways to make money.
- He was a risk-taker and wasn’t afraid
Carnegie’s success can be attributed to his entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to work hard, take risks and find new opportunities. Other entrepreneurs can learn from him by following these same principles. If you want to be like Andrew Carnegie, then start by setting your goals high and working hard towards them. Be creative and always look for ways to improve your business. And lastly, don’t be afraid of failure! The only way you can fail is if you don’t try at all.
My final thoughts
I have always believed in failing your way to success, if you don’t put one foot forward, you will never begin. Carnegie’s success was determined and hard work at whatever his business was. No one was getting in his way.
This is a trailer of his documentary that is amazing — Andrew Carnegie: Rags to Riches, Power to Peace — TRAILER (2015) I don’t make anything off of this, but I’m a big fan!
