If you haven’t already and are new to Flesh and Blood, read my ultimate guide to picking a class to play to see what other classes may interest you if it turns out Brute doesn’t fit your playstyle as well as you would like.

Because Light Warrior, Light Illusionist, Shadow Brute, and Shadow Runeblade have preconstructed Monarch Blitz decks for sale at $11.99 MSRP, I will not be creating starter deck guides for those class talents. In my opinion, those preconstructed decks are perfectly valid entry points into the game for new players.

My design philosophy for the best Flesh and Blood Brute class Blitz starter deck
- $10 budget (excluding our 11 equipment cards and the hero token which you can expect to pay about $0.25 per piece.) $0.25 per card in the 40-card main deck.
- All common rarity cards.
- No Crucible of War cards until Unlimited print edition is released for the set.
- Deck composition and strategy should reflect class gameplay and ideals.
- Simple and easy to understand with a clear path forward when upgrading.

Brute is a wild class in Flesh and Blood. You will want to set up consistently high-power attacks and disrupt your opponent’s ability to defend your attacks with the intimidate mechanic. Embrace the unpredictability and center your deck around the magic number six.

This Brute Blitz starter deck seeks to capitalize on low-cost and high-power attacks and the intimidate mechanic to disrupt our opponent’s plans as they try to defend against us. The best offense is a good defense, so be prepared to try to clobber your opponent and don’t give them a chance to breathe. At the time of writing, there are three different Brute heroes available to us in Blitz. For new players, I would recommend Rhinar for his consistency, simplicity, and power.
Smash everything with sticks, stones, and fists.
From the start, we want to come out strong and swinging. Try to set up a 6+ power attack each and every turn and force your opponent to block with more than one card or lose a lot of life.

Use Barkbone Strapping to generate action points for a big turn with lots of power-ups. The resource generation will be unpredictable, so try to set it up on a turn when you have all four cards in your hand.

- Each and every attack in our deck is 6+ power which is important for Rhinar’s ability. Cards like Savage Swing, Wrecker Romp, and Primeval Bellow will cause us to discard a random card so building our deck so that every attack has 6+ means we are more likely to get a hit and bonus effect with our attacks.
- Use cards like Come to Fight and Awakening Bellow before playing your attacks that will cause you to discard a card at random. You will be more likely to hit get the 6+ bonus from Rhinar and disrupt your opponent’s ability to defend your attacks.
- Use Pummel to empower your attacks and cause your opponent to discard a card if you hit them, or just get some extra weapon damage in with your club.
- Use Cadaverous Contraband to hit big and recur some of your powerful non-attack actions that buff your next attack. You can empower your Cadaverous Contraband, hit the opponent with it, and return the power-up you just used to the top of your deck before your draw at the end of the turn.
- Don’t be afraid to lose some of your life total if that means you get to swing for a big hit next turn. Life is a resource and the Brute lacks a lot of the defensive capabilities of other classes. If you are hitting your opponent consistently, they will have less attack capability on their turn.

There are numerous cheap and effective upgrades to this starter Brute Blitz deck. In general, these are the card slots that we want to drop as soon as possible to make way for some improvements.
Many class-specific super rares and majestics will almost always be worth including in your deck if you have them/want to invest a little more.
But as a logical and cost-effective next step, here are some cards to ditch, and some cheaper rares to swap them with that will give you a big boost in power with a limited increase in cost.
Note that at the time of publication many Crucible of War cards (even in common or rare rarity) are quite expensive since the Unlimited print run has not been released for this product yet. As it becomes available, many new cards will be available for Brute at a fraction of the cost the first edition versions are listed for right now.
