The best app that will help you get your tasks done in time 2022.

For the past month, I have been struggling to find the perfect app that will actually push me to tick off my tasks from my todoist app. I have been spending on average 30 mins a day throughout the whole week in the app store when I am idle just looking for good apps out there that will help me level up my productivity.

When it comes to where I have my tasks organized, Todoist is the place. But due to the lack of motivational features on the app, my drive to complete a task at times is really low. I even tried using TickTick because it had a focus feature and a calendar view too but OOOOOHH!!. No offense but the design and the user interface are just difficult to stare at for a long time. Being a person who really cares about functionality together with aesthetics within an app I think I might have gotten an app that solved this problem.

What led me to choose Structured

Before I let you know about this app, I'm pretty sure most of you have utilized a focus app of your choice once, and maybe it might have actually helped you focus or it might have not. Personally, I tried a bunch of them and even paid for them too so that I could access the premium features and decide if I liked them or not (by the way there is a tiny simple trick ill let you know about if you are using an iPhone and like trying out premium features offered by apps and would like to have that money back in case you didn't like the app. Some people may know this trick but some may not).

But after using most of these focus apps I realized they weren’t actually that effective to me as I would just toggle them to start a focus session whenever I wanted to and that's it. Just a screen counting down the time I have to complete a task. I understand that to some it's effective but to me, it wasn’t at all. I just ended up watching Impaulsive and Marques Brownlee’s youtube videos.

But after searching and searching I finally found “STRUCTURED”

What is structured?

Structured is an app that helps you plan your day in form of tasks and time. Meaning that you can add a task with its start and end time as well as customize the colour of the task and how often you would like that task to repeat. UUUUHH and not forgetting subtasks too, pretty cool right?

Pricing

Well let's get to the point, let's talk about the pricing of Structured

Structured is free to use, but then of course as always we do know that some features are going to be hidden behind a small fee in most applications. Most apps will offer a subscription-based model but structured is a one-time purchase app that costs only $5. As I reside in the United Kingdom I paid around £4.49 for lifetime access to the app.

App update status

The good thing is that the app is still going to be getting updates despite the lifetime access as the developer did so so as to get more money to support the development process and offer people a good and useful app. He even states on the app that if you can't afford to purchase the lifetime access for the app and you really need it then you can email him and he will give you free access to the app. I pointed this out as most apps that do offer lifetime access don't really update their apps and features from time to time as I believe the reason behind this may be that the app isn't really that much of the main focus at the moment due to having other life priorities or focusing on developing other projects, so this way they can make money from lifetime access purchases while solving minor bug fixes for their app.

A few criticisms

The app is absolutely amazing but I would like to point out a few improvements.

1. Task Icons

I would really like to see the app giving freedom to set whatever icon I would like to use straight from my phone emojis instead of plane icons that are built in the app. I believe this would make it look way better.

2. Move the time slots in case I am late to do a task

Let me just explain this with an example. Today I woke up late, my first task was at 9 am in the morning and I woke up at 10 am. I looked at my structured app and I was like “oooh shit”. Now guess what? I had to dive right into every task and move the time slots just so that I could reorganize my day. It would be helpful if the app had a slider of some sort that would help users move the tasks by minutes or even hours just by sliding down to add more time or up to reduce time. Something similar to what the Sorted app incorporates.

Finally

The main reason why I chose this app is that it gives me a sense of responsibility than focus apps as it makes me do what I’m supposed to do while counting down the time I have left as well as keeping me in check with the fact that I need to get this done as soon as I run out of time and start working on my other tasks

This is all for now. I really hope you can check the app out and who knows maybe it might help you just as it helps me.
