The Belly of Shiva
Literary Impulse & Paper Poetry “Eudaemonia” Prompt Submission

I stepped off a cliff but I didn’t fall down I landed on a cloud And just kept walking
I plunged into Ajna chakra Swimming hard against the tide Then I spotted the golden glow overhead And my garb turned into fibers of light
I planted my fingers deep into the soil’s heart Watching delicate tendrils begin to spill open Life’s magic unfolding an inch from my face Mother earth in her prime: Renew, Replenish, Repeat
I opened my eyes in a copper-plated cave Eudaemonia! I called out, still hesitant His voice booms back in reply; I am in the belly of Shiva Aum… bass trembles the goosebumps on my arms
You are here You are held You are forever
Beyond time Beyond here Beyond everywhere
This is Eudaemonia. Welcome, child.
