Do you like movies?
A brief intro: The journey started off like a roller coaster ride and is still like one in all aspects of life. That’s what life is all about right? So, let me share the little tricks and diversions that we did during our tough times this year to keep ourselves happy and calm our minds so that we can focus on what needs to be done and not affect our son in any way.
Why would someone’s life be full of challenges? Are you someone who can relate to it? From my perspective, it’s only when you are a dare dreamer to achieve something very big, and you take great risks irrespective of not-so-great financial, family, or educational background, and simply challenge and strive to win the battle and set an empire of your own. Goals and challenges go hand in hand. Do you agree? If yes, then we travel in the same boat. 🙌
For me and my husband, this wonderful planet is the university. Nature and life events, both successes and failures, are our teachers. If you succeed, you did the right thing and if you fail, obviously that’s not something you should do again. Either way, you learn. We cannot be blamed for the pandemic or the betrayals. But, when we look back, certain decisions we made were against our strong intuition, so listen to your heart.
Okay, can we chitchat for a while?
What kind of movies do you like?
For me, adventurous, thriller movies, where I’m made to feel like on the edge throughout. When it comes to film, my first choice of genre is “mystery.” I’m a mystery too. Yes, once in a while, a nice romantic drama. I want to make every single minute productive; even watching movies should be worthwhile. One of such kind for me in 2022 was “Knives Out,” a 2019 American mystery film written and directed by Rian Johnso, starring Daniel Craig. Maybe you can give it a try. My husband does loads of homework to get the best of movies so that he gets my company. He is a cinephile.
The Pursuit of Happiness

Take the courage! Decide to be Happy! Be Happy! Be Happy!
Your sorrows will run away and hide! New paths will show up!
Leading you to discover new horizons!
Our movie 2022 introductory scene presented the three protagonists, me, my husband, and our son starting our life from “zero” in a new house, in a new place. Calling it zero wouldn’t be appropriate, because we were running in minus by a few million; can we call it “destitution” or is there a better word to describe it? We had to cancel the car that was booked, the house, and whatnot. This being the fifth time in over two decades, couldn’t scare us enough. It’s the first time for the junior though…

Have you watched The Lego Story? Maybe if you watch it, you will understand the real scenario except for the fact that it’s the story of three generations that we face in one lifetime and we are still striving to live through the imbalance.
Every time we fall, we crawl, rise up, and dust off and see ourselves stronger and wiser from the lessons learned. But a downfall in your 40s, from a point where you were very close to lifetime achievement, is unendurable. It was a nightmare. After investing three years of time, money, hard work, and life into something big and the project gets stalled; should I say more?
Good deeds always come back, and we are slowly recovering. However, I am grateful for all that comes our way, the challenges and the blessings equally.
The most interesting part of the story that I want to share is the way we sustained. The actual storyline speaks the screenplay of the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) directed by Gabriele Muccino, starring Will Smith. Have you watched the movie? Having a very weak heart, it was really difficult for me to watch the entire movie.
You are invited to watch ours, which on the contrary would be more of a pleasant, happy family entertainer. You would have definitely enjoyed it if you would’ve watched it. Let me just share a fair bit for you to enjoy.👇
The Fun Part
We just did the things we had to be doing and kept rolling. We moved on. At the same time, we know that by the time we get busy, things are going to be different. Being in a new place, we had to find out new activities to entertain ourselves. We said goodbye to television more than a decade ago, so depending on the surroundings, we discover new activities to spend our family time together.
Our current house is near Civil Aerodrome, located near the runway and that was the only reason my son chose this house. It’s a beautiful view from the terrace, especially in the moonlight, with the runway lights on. So, we marked that at top of our list. Before it’s bedtime for my son, we spend around 30 minutes watching the ✈️ airplanes take off and land with chatters and chortles.

Like watching a play from one of the royal loges in “Milan’s Teatro alla Scala” with an added bonus of sky view for 🔭 stargazing. Shooting stars appear every night in our night sky; the illusion created by high-altitude airplanes. How can I miss the moonlight, a very special beauty only when seen from our loge. We make sure not to miss this routine every single day.
What we wanted for our son and what he longed for
The longer the wait, the sweeter and bigger the reward!
Apart from other challenges during the lockdown, the most painful moments were the times when my son would hold me tight and cry in pain, saying “Mom, I want at least one friend, someone who is my age with the same interests, with whom I can share my toys and play games. I’m feeling very lonely ma. I know you are there for me and I have dad, but…”
You know this is one of the challenges we face in a nuclear family setup. The lockdown made it even worse. A prison life of close to two years for a 7-year-old boy was way too much to handle, but I’m grateful I was able to help him deal with it.
The answer to that, now, here in this new place, he has made a gang of some 30 friends, three different groups; one for cycling, one for football, and another one for cricket and they call themselves “Jolly Boys.” Apart from that, he has an elderly friend, who provides shelter for some 12 rescued dogs and 13 cats, can you imagine? After his morning cycling routine, he spends an hour with this person, helping him feed the dogs. Not just that, he also has many more friends of all different age groups. A very busy, happy chap now.
If you’re reading my stories for the first time, I would want you to know that my son is a self-learner, 9 years old, unschooled.
The New Me is Born
So, with all these “A Series of Unfortunate Events” turned Fortunate events for me is this new transformation as a writer. If everything would’ve happened the way it should have been, maybe I wouldn’t be writing here. I’m getting a clear signal that I was chosen for this because I’ve never even imagined myself as a writer, not even in my dreams and how did I end up here? I’m very grateful to my husband for introducing me to this wonderful platform, thank you!
I only started to write because I wanted to build my profile to help with my business, to improve my communication skills, and most of all I just wanted to document somewhere all those valuable thoughts and ideas, my dreams, and everything that I want to say out loud to the world or someone whom I can share open mindedly without having a second thought whether or not I can say this to this person. I want to do so much for this beautiful planet, to protect and preserve biodiversity, and for our future generations to thrive. I’m tied up, so the least I could do is give my voice through my writings for the change to happen.
Words are more powerful than swords! I’ve heard that somewhere and now that I’ve experienced that, I’m definitely not going to stop. I fell in love with writing, the words, and instead of the pen, I have to say the keys. I’ll write till the end of my last breath! That’s the “New ME.”
Challenges in life are a blessing. Without that, I wouldn't have anything to write here.
Spread Love! Spread Happiness!

A Gratitude Note!
I’m so grateful and indebted, I would say, to Author Katie Michaelson, who brought my stories to light and that gave me more confidence and encouragement; also, her smile and her words comforts me. Thank you, Katie Michaelson, for your love and support.
I want to mention some of the authors who first supported me, who responded, some authors who inspired me through their stories, some authors whose writings are soul-soothing, and the editors and publications who accepted my work. I’m hoping not to miss anyone. Overall, I thank Medium for this wonderful platform and for creating such a lovely, supportive community.
