The Baggage And Old Age

A poem 🎒

It’s a heavy baggage

but it’s the lightest thing

he carried in his lifetime

he is old now

but the baggage looks so young and alive

freely travelled through

romantic islands and stunning mountains

walked through lush green fields

and awe-inspiring forests

crawled like a snail along the craggy hillsides

He glanced at the windowpanes

smoky mist gathered everywhere

suddenly, he saw

the sun touching the green slope

and emerged brightly from the fog

A golden leaf floated down

in the cool morning

small raindrops dripping off the palm leaves

and he was still watching

He is old now

shuddering hands and weak legs

gently looking at the heavy baggage

his heart is still travelling around the world

with his heavy baggage
