The Art of Autistic Resistance
A poem of holding back, questioning life paths, acknowledging challenges we face.
The Art of Autistic Resistance
the gratuitous delay, the fear of what’s to come from all the plans you made!
What is it you’re lacking that prevents you from backing yourself who is tracking the results that you seek?
What prevents you from shining so bright what makes you run or take flight what pumps you up to muster you're might what causes you to rescind with fright?
Is what you are seeking aligned with your speaking are you speaking your highest truth or are you hiding like a shady sleuth are you prepared to raise the roof or are you seeking outside proof?
Perhaps you’re unsure, all aloof maybe your foul-mouthed, uncouth thriving on a mis-spent youth seeking perfection with a comb, fine-tooth!
Whatever it is, wherever you’re at, to you I doff my unkempt hat! For I’m still looking for my life’s meaning oftentimes clueless to where I’m leaning most of my features are unredeeeming my ruffled feathers in need of preening no ideas from which I’m gleaning what parts of me might need intervening!
Floundering in a home in need of cleaning ideas a plenty that need scheming an inner voice that’s often screaming head in the clouds away with dreaming. A cheesy grin on my lips beaming a mind full of thoughts all steadily streaming ideas and research all a teeming around my head late in the evening when my head should be sleeping. Yet, I find myself staring at the ceiling hoping tomorrow I’ll be proceeding. A stomach that’s empty - in need of feeding laying awake, listening to my heart beating. Aware that sleep could be fleeting no doubt be late for that prearranged meeting. I hope the size of my eyes might start decreasing! Finding my whole life thoroughly intriguing wondering if my eyes might just be deceiving. Telling my thoughts it’s time to be leaving they ignore me and continue deepening. Next thing I know I’m downstairs creeping my nose in the fridge, with my mouth eating!
