The Art Of Acting

Acting consciously is the practical way to overcome all difficulties. Conscious acting is the power of the will in action. You can only act consciously by realizing that the world is nothing but the mirror image of yourself. Act flawlessly, you will know the play of roles and you will know how to transcend them.
The whole man, even though he holds all kinds of social positions, does not remain trapped in roles; he is able to act perfectly, and without identifying himself, the part assigned to him in the Game of existence. The moment you believe that there is a reality separate from yourself, you lose your status as a creator and become a victim of your own creation. Life manifests itself with all its theatrical madness, which you can survive only if you know the Art of Acting.
The apparent hostility, unfairness, violence, and injustice of the world are precious elements to teach you the Art of Acting, remaining whole and alive inside. Everyone is a victim of themselves and is looking for apparent problems to justify their forgetfulness. Freedom from a role and the ability to transcend it comes only when you have learned to act it perfectly. Participate as a protagonist in life, but be careful not to lie! Only if you act will you be able to survive and escape the surveillance of watchful guardians that you yourself have put in place and that you alone can evade in order to enter roles of a higher order.
Freedom from a role comes only when you have learned to act it perfectly. When you perform a role flawlessly and act it perfectly, it not only frees you but also the world from its own misery and violence. Any injustice or unhappiness that seemingly manifests in Life is caused by your violation of inner laws — self-sabotage that you yourself produce first in your body and then in the world.
Many great actors receive success and recognition for their performance on stage or on a film set, while in real life they prove to be very fragile and victims of smallness as well as incapable of responsibly sustaining the challenges of existence. What chance has an ordinary man without any specific preparation to play his role in life successfully? Play your role in life as a great actor does on stage. Always. Believe without believing. Intentionally playing your role makes you more real than the reality in which you are called to act. The belief of the common man is to identify with everything and anything. It doesn’t matter if you identify with an object or with God. Identification always leads to a state of death. A man of integrity plays his role intentionally and impeccably, practicing belief without belief. Only a man free from identification can stay alive in a world that demands his total involvement. The world is a big screen On which you project the ghosts of your life.
I feel like I live two different lives in two separate worlds fighting for survival. How can I find the right balance between ‘Work’ and the business of daily life?
Play your role in the world like an actor does on stage. There is nothing wrong with the play and nothing wrong with the role you play. The problem only arises when you forget you are acting and identify with the role itself.
What about God? You ‘are’ here and now. Forget about God. Find out who you are first and then investigate your God.
What about the others? Interfering as little as possible with the events of others and being patient, turn to yourself and learn to be still and silent. Observe yourself in silence and you will reap more benefits than any choice, decision or action you experience in the outside world.
You must remember that you are the writer, producer, and director who assigns everyone their own part to play. You too, the creator and creator of the show, are called upon to play your part, to assume a role and wear the mask that circumstances require. Beware of not doing so. It is the only way to break out of the prisons you yourself have created and remain free. A man who has learned to act observes everyone he meets and is aware of the part that the Dream itself has entrusted to him. They are all parts of a fantastic representation where an invisible pencil has drawn their outlines and profiles. An immense cinematographic set, with thousands of extras who play their role without being aware of it, believing it to be real; all of them busy convincing you that you are one of them. And if you forget the Game and identify yourself, you fall prey to the same illusion, you become an extra among the others, an unconscious victim of your own projections. Many people misunderstand the meaning of the Art of Acting, confusing it with an unconscious inclination to lie mechanically. To lie is to self-destruct; to lie is to die. When you lie to others, you are creating and projecting a world full of hardship, injustice, and failure. When you lie to the Dreamer, you are miserably catapulted into a mortal coil of despair and eliminate the only chance you have to “remember” and return to who you really are. Be very careful! Any attempt to deceptively use the Art of Acting without a real and conscious understanding of its proper use will turn your life into an inescapable prison of hypocrisy, suffering and death.
Sincerity means acting consciously as a good actor, acting as being sincere. To be sincere, you need to touch the most real part of yourself and simultaneously project it into the world of events — that’s acting. If you stop acting, you get lost in the multitude of useless roles and false truths. If you stop acting, you die! Acting is life — real life. Flawlessly acting out what you are called upon to impersonate in any circumstance sets you free. Strategically wearing the right mask to meet the expectations of the world around you is the only way to survive in a world that you yourself have created and projected. Remember. A role, any role in life is a prison.
For many years your false sincerity has led you to play the role of a machine that with other machines is a slave to an unknown and invisible design, and obeys the command of an infernal project. You have lived your entire life believing that this was real life. Now, you are called to play the same role or roles, the same absurd and senseless life, but this time without believing it, and consciously knowing that life is an incredible play, a beautiful show that you have staged through “The Art of Dreaming”.
Believing is not difficult…. Everyone believes in something…. But forcing oneself to believe is for few…. The paradox ‘believing without believing’ shows in a merciless light how much rhetorical apologia is attached to believing and what is its danger as the root of all fanaticism. Outside of you, any belief, any faith, makes you belong to the army of lies. Believing makes you a follower of the doctrine of lying. Believing makes you belong to the mass of believers, to the multitude of people who live a state of identification, of belonging. Not believing’ in God, as atheists say, is a belief that equally sinks you in the sea of fundamentalists, dogmatists, intolerants, and ideologists of all kinds.
In fact, I never wanted to meet, or in any way have contact with those who call themselves spiritual people or ‘truth seekers’. How much better it would be for them, and how much greater benefit they would derive if instead of seeking the truth outside, they discovered the lie within themselves. Believing without believing’ is the liberating vision that frees the individual from all superstition and belief. There is no karma and no previous life — no guilt and no punishment — no afterlife or universal judgment — no hell or heaven. There is only this ‘Instant’, sacred, infinite, omnipotent. Use it! Because you won’t have any other chance. Believing without believing’ means choosing your intent and pursuing it to the end, relentlessly.
It is a high state of being that requires the elimination of the lie, and is attainable only by men of integrity who know and impeccably practice the Art of Acting. An atheism campaign slogan reads
“The bad news is that God is dead. The good news is you don’t need Him.”
The attempt to eliminate God by those who call themselves atheists is an attempt, hidden from themselves, to exorcise the fear of death. A fear that grips and nags them more than others. It is the common misconception that an atheist is a strong person, who refuses to lean on the illusory hanger of God, as the rest of humanity does, while it is the weakness in fact the common denominator and explanation of that doctrine. For an ordinary man, for one who has not attained inner compactness, believing and not believing are the same lie…. The atheist has first transferred the divine out of himself, and then denied it. The mortal sin of atheism, therefore, is not believing in God, denying his existence, but not believing in oneself.
It is possible to feel involved with what is happening without identifying with it, and this is the manifestation of a man of integrity. It is possible to identify with everything without really being involved, and this is the way of life of most men on earth.
Identification is the reaction to something that has already happened. Commitment is the creative power that can project what is about to happen. Identification is a prison that you inflict on yourself; commitment, on the other hand, is freedom, integrity, a sense of certainty, consistency, courage, and vitality. You can feel this new strength in your flesh, in your joints, in your breath, and in your heart. It is the Invisible manifesting in the world of action. Can you tell me how to deal with negative emotions? And how to get rid of them? Negative emotions are not the problem. Ignoring them or misunderstanding them is. In order to eliminate them, you must first be fully aware of them. Pay attention to your inner states, whatever they may be. Through seriousness and patience, you will discover something very valuable and very powerful that hides behind their apparent unpleasantness. Bravely dive deep and approach your negative states. The light of your awareness will make them disappear, and allow you to reach the summit of perfection and wholeness as a permanent state. The art of acting plays an important role in choosing consciously. You will only survive in the world if you know how to play your roles flawlessly. Either way, you are always acting, whether you know it or not.
Acting gives you the opportunity to pass unnoticed through the gates of the Garden of Eden and escape the fate of being a victim — cast out of Paradise with the first bite of the forbidden fruit. In acting, one can be anyone or anything, from king to peasant, but always with royalty within. Acting is the act of a warrior. Conscious acting is more real than the very reality you have been taught to believe. For a warrior, there is nothing more glorious than a battle that comes unexpectedly opening the gates of heaven to him. A warrior faces the battle of Life remaining untouched in happiness and pain, in gain and loss, in victory and defeat. The belief of a common man is the identification, losing oneself — it makes no difference whether for an object or for God. Believing without believing requires the qualities of an impeccable actor — only a free man can remain intact in a world that “demands” his complete identification.
