The Angry Writer

Strong emotions make powerful writing

There have been times when something has upset me, during the course of the day. I want to talk about it, speak my mind about it, and express myself freely. Being an angry writer is dangerous because you may just end up upsetting a lot of people with your angry prose, if you write and publish it immediately, in the heat of the moment.

The best course of action would be to write down all your thoughts when you are angry and then keep them aside. Come back to your rough outline after your temper has simmered, maybe an hour or even a day later. Take time to cool down and feel calm once again.

Review your writing, delete and add points according to the presentation you want to make. Keep your writing real, as it must reflect the real you, your emotions, and your expressions. Your writing does not need to be perfect.

Several people may not agree with what you have to say about a particular issue, but that is their opinion on the matter. You have your opinion and your opinion matters, as you have been personally through an unpleasant experience and you want to tell the world about it.

If you want to use swear words in your writing, then go ahead and do it. But, remember that the use of expletives will be part of your writing style and what your readers can expect in your literary pieces in the future.

Personally, I am not comfortable using profanity in my writing. I feel that the use of cursing and swear words depletes the value of the literary piece and depreciates the writer in the minds of the readers. A writer needs to respect the reader in order to gain the respect of the reader.

It is okay to use expletives, in stories, when you have your characters express and reveal their emotions and their personalities.

An angry writer can write some of the most powerful materials because his expressions are coming from the core of his being. He is writing from his strongest and most powerful experiences to produce work that will speak to so many readers on so many levels.

We are all familiar with the day when everything goes wrong and we feel the universe is working against us. It is not the day, but the way we react to the day that matters.

Angry writers, with their powerful prose, make us comfortable in the fact that they are human too and living through the same tough life experience.
