The Aftermath of the Fortune Hunter’s Cyber-attack: A Case Study in Strategic Action and Selflessness.

Recently, the Fortune Hunter’s crypto empire was the victim of a coordinated cyber-attack. For many crypto projects, this would be a death sentence. There have been so many rugs that blamed cyber-attacks or devs that just threw in the towel when facing such adversity that most people probably were worried that Fortune Hunters would fail to rise to the challenge. How wrong they were. The team rallied behind their leadership and created priorities to not only combat the threat but also to ensure that the community at large stayed informed on what was happening and what they could do about it. They worked with site owners to help mitigate the issues of using the website while offering constant support to the community. There were AMAs to address concerns, regular updates on the Telegram chat, and countless hours by the team working on getting the sites back up and active. They worked with partners such as Moonarch to allow people to interact with the contract in the absence of a working front-end UI and never, at any time, lashed out at their community. Their hard work did not go unnoticed.

During their last VC to address the community, the telegram chat was filled with overwhelming support for the team. The Fortune Hunters’ community knows that they can trust the team to do what is right, and they wanted to let them know. Craig Heavisides (Crypto Craig) and his team stayed calm and collected while explaining the situation, giving the community a feeling of security even in the midst of a crisis. The wear and tear on the team was apparent in their voices, but so was their resolve to beat the threat and get back to printing money for their investors.

One of the most profound things stated by the team is when someone asked if they were trying to find out who was behind the attacks. Typically, a project manager would jump on this opportunity to villainize the unknown culprit and take the spotlight off of them and how they reacted to the attack. Crypto Craig did not do this. Instead, he stated his priorities and how ensuring the safety of the project and its investors took precedence over hunting down the guilty party. In that one statement, Craig made it clear that the team would always prioritize the welfare of the community over the easy path of just blaming someone else.

While Crypto Craig displayed phenomenal stature during the VC, it is essential to note that he was not alone. The entire Fortune Hunters team acted as one with a singular focus and exceptional aptitude to address the problem. The development team was tireless in their efforts to get the site back up and running, and the mods displayed zen-like patience addressing everyone’s concerns without losing their temper. Often, a team falls apart while dealing with such a trying occurrence, but not here. Instead, I would argue that the crisis brought out the absolute best in the team and showed why every one of them deserved to be called a member of the Fortune Hunters.

The team should be applauded for how they handled the situation and studied by other projects on handling such adversity in the future. I have never felt more secure with my money in a project as I do with the Fortune Hunter team right now.
