The 8 Habits Of Losers In Life

We’re all born with the same 24-hours in a day.
Why then do some people get what they want in their life?
While others constantly fail?
What is the difference between the winners & the losers?
Their habits.
Habits are the difference between:
- Being Rich or being broke.
- Being Fit or being obese.
- Being Charismatic or being boring.
Everything you want in life has a series of habits standing behind it’s achievement.

Your habits can either help you win, or cause you to lose.
So what should you do to become a winner?
Remove your bad habits, replace with good ones.
Wouldn’t it be hard to change 100% of our habits though?
Yes, that’s where the Pareto principle comes in.
According to the Pareto Principle:
20% of your habits cause 80% of your results
80% of your results come from the remaining 20%
So if you wanted to improve your results by 80%…
Don’t try to fix everything, just get rid of the worst offenders.
Here is my 8 habits I’m either removing or are actively removing to improve my life.
Loser Habit #1: Sleeping Incorrectly
A while back I got tired of having no self-control so I started studying the science of self-control.
In the book the Willpower instinct, I found out that just like a computer runs on an operating system, self-control runs on willpower.

And what’s one of the best sources of willpower out there?
High Quality Sleep.
In order to win, at anything, you MUST have self-control.
If you fail to get restorative sleep, the second your willpower gets challenged, you fail.
The strength of your self-control is directly correlated to the quality of your sleep.
Here’s a few general guidelines for better sleep:
Sleep & wake up at the same time daily.
Only use your room for sleep & sex.
Keep the room dark, cool, & quiet.
Tech off ~1hr before bed.
Avoid drinking large amounts of caffeine.

Loser Habit #2: Shallow Work

Losers can’t do any amount of work for an extended period of time before having to break off & go do something else.
Imagine having to do a 200 mile road trip, but you have to stop for a stop light every 15 seconds.
That’s shallow work.
Imagine then instead if you only had to get onto a highway and stay on it for 2 hours then get off.
That’s deep work.
Losers don’t go far in life, because they’re literally always stopping.
Winners aren’t smarter, they literally just get on and stay on until they’re done.
Deep work is productive, shallow work is unproductive.
When you’re unproductive you have to keep doing the same thing over and over again because you couldn’t do it right the first time.
It’s like paddling a rowboat in circles.
At the end of shallow work, you’re exhausted but you’ve achieved nothing.
Deep work is when you know the goal, you paddle directly to it until you can’t focus anymore.
Then you stop.
A simple way to start doing deep work is to simply follow these guidelines:
Put your phone in a different room.
Study or work in the same place daily.
Get good sleep.
Notice when you can not longer focus, then stop.
By doing this I turned pointless 8 hour study sessions into highly productive 2 hour study sessions.
I went from a 2.7 GPA in High School to a 3.7 GPA when I graduated university.
Deep work allows you to get more done in less time, so you can go spend that time doing more things that improve your life.
Losers treat their time like their money, they just throw it away then one day wonder why they have nothing to show for it.
Loser Habit #3: Avoiding Boredom

A while back I heard a quote from some rich guy that pissed a lot of people off, he said:
“Anyone could become rich if they just stopped mindlessly scrolling on social media.”
Why?
Overstimulation makes normal things (like reading or working) boring.
When our brain is constantly saturated by pointless dopamine in the form of porn, social media, tv, video games everything looks dull by comparison.
It was only once I:
- Threw away my Television
- Stopped Using Social Media
- Stopped watching porn
Did I actually start enjoying doing the things that moved my life forward.
Now I’m working out daily.
Now I’m writing daily.
Now I’m reading daily.
Why?
Because it’s genuinely fun to me.
When you remove the overstimulation, you begin to enjoy the work.
Loser Habit #4: Eating Complete Trash

According to the CDC:
1/3rd of American’s are diabetic or prediabetic
2/3rd of American’s are overweight or obese.
Losers eat complete trash, & it destroys their lives.
Not just immediately by ruining how they feel that day, but how they feel long term by giving them chronic health conditions.
I want you to try an experiment.
I want you to spend an entire day eating ONLY highly processed foods, especially fast food.
- Chips, Candy, chocolate, cakes, pies, Ice cream
- Fried chicken, frozen dinners, pizza
- Anything with high fat, sugar, salt, or words you can’t understand
Then track:
A. How you feel.
B. How much work you accomplish.
Then the following day I want you only to eat things you can identify where they’re grown, caught, or farmed from.
Then track how you feel & how much you accomplish.
Then you’ll understand precisely how big of an effect having a clean diet has on your life.
Loser Habit #5: Self Absorption.
Think of the most self-absorbed person you know.
Do you want to be friends with them?
Do they have good romantic relationships?
The quickest way to become lonely & isolated is to think of only yourself.
Whoever you think about is who you’ll have in your life.
Losers do not think about their friends, so they do not have any.
Losers do not think about what their partner wants, so they don’t have one.
One of the easiest ways to fix your social life is simply stop thinking about yourself for once, and start thinking about others.
Loser Habit #6: They Put No Effort Into Their Body

It’s an unfortunate fact of life,
Everyone judges a book by it’s cover.
When you hate the way you look, you start to hate yourself.
When you hate yourself, no one wants to be around you.
So you start eating trash, watching porn, & drinking to numb the pain of loneliness.
All of this can be reversed simply by putting effort into your body by working out.
When you work out you start losing weight & building muscle.
As you begin losing weight & building muscle you start liking yourself more so you get more confident.
As you get more confident people start to like you more so you make more friends.
Then you get happier and an upward spiral begins.
All from just working out.
Loser Habit #7: They Have Negative Self Talk
As Henry Ford once said,
“Whether you think you can or you can’t, You’re right.”
I’d say this alone could turn your life around.
Almost all of my progress in life started with a simple change in what I thought.
When I decided one day maybe I could find a girlfriend, I found one.
When I decided one day maybe I could win a prestigious scholarship, I won one.
When I decided one day maybe I could become hot, I did it. (Then lost it, but doing it again)
The point being is losers constantly tell themselves trying is pointless.
So they never try to escape their situations, even though they could if they just tried.
If you take anything from me let it be this.
If you want to change your life, simply repeat what you want to be true.
Whatever you repeat becomes reality.
It might take 6 months, it might take 10 years, but regardless if someone’s done it before… so can you.
Loser Habit #8: They Consume They Don’t Create
I want you to think of the richest people in the world.
What did they do?
Jeff Bezos CREATED Amazon.
Bill Gates CREATED Microsoft.
Elon Musk CREATED Paypal, SpaceX, and The Modern EV
Now what do losers do?
They CONSUME social media.
They CONSUME drugs, & alcohol.
They CONSUME processed foods.
Society does not reward you for consuming.
Everyone consumes.
Society rewards you for creating.
Creating new ideas, creating concentrated knowledge, creating a system, a business, anything that can help someone else.
If you don’t know where or how to start creating simply do this.
- Get a non-fiction book on a problem you have.
- Read it.
- Write a summary of the book on medium.
Overtime you’ll discover what makes you unique and gradually paw your way to your purpose.
