The 3 Step Cure to Writer’s Block
Do you ever find yourself staring at a computer screen with a sincere intention to write, only to leave with nothing done?

In college, I always felt that I wasn’t a “good” writer.
I would sit down at a computer for hours, write down a few words, and eventually backspace it all into oblivion.
I had diagnosed myself with writer’s block.
But the problem wasn’t me.
The problem was that I had no inspiration.
So how can you get inspired?
STEP 1— Change What You Consume
How do you become a healthier person?
Eat healthier foods.
How do you become a better writer?
Consume better content.
Here are a few examples:
- Don’t read news articles. Read Medium articles.
- Don’t scroll social media. Scroll timeless literature.
- Don’t watch short-form content. Watch quality documentaries.
By improving what you put in, you’ll improve what you put out.

STEP 2 — Write Down Your Thoughts
You have thoughts entering and exiting your mind at every moment. Some of our best epiphanies happen in the shower, sheltered from a world of stimulation.
What happens when we get out of the shower?
We forget those beautiful ideas.
Solution: Write Down Your Thoughts
Keep a journal. Use your Notes App. Write down ideas on your hands.
Just don’t lose those thoughts. Moments of inspiration can change your life.

STEP 3 — Designate a Note-Taking Location
I used to scatter my notes in all sorts of places. Phone apps, crumpled papers, journals, google docs. It was unorganized and overwhelming.
Keep a central location for your epiphanies, inspirations, and quotes.
When you feel uninspired, take a look at your designated note-taking location and the ideas will form naturally.
The most important thing — keep calm and write on…
