Being a student often comes with many perks such as free tools and services. However, many are not aware of all the benefits they have as students. Today I want to share with you the 3 free online tools you should start using as a student right now, that will help you expand your knowledge, explore your creativity, take care of your mental and physical health, save money, and even start a side hustle.

1. Github Student Developer Pack

If you are going to either expand your knowledge or start a side hustle, Github Student Developer Pack will be your money saver. When signing up for this pack with your student account you have free access to a lot of online tools. To name some of them:

Canva — the design platform for creating visual content in an easy way

Typeform — the software that helps you create catchy surveys to understand your market and simple sign up forms to grow your email list

Name.com & Namecheap — these two tools offer 1 free year domain registration for your website

The Github Developer Pack offers a lot more tools than the ones mentioned here. Have a look by yourself here.

2. Downdog

We are all aware of the importance of our mental and physical health, however, as students, we often do not have the means to do so, or we simply neglect it. To change this, Downdog offers free access to all its apps: Meditation, Yoga, HIIT, Running, Barre, and Prenatal Yoga, to all the students (and teachers) forever! I cannot recommend Downdog enough, as I have been using it now for a couple of years and it is always my go-to health app. Give it a try!

Important

During my master’s degree at TUM, I received €25,000 in scholarships that helped me fund my semester abroad at Stanford University in the US, Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel, and Tsinghua University in China, and partially my living costs in Germany.

I put together a database with 33 scholarships I have thoroughly researched, and the cover letter that helped me receive 11 scholarships.

Join my monthly newsletter where I share learnings and tips about living a more fulfilling life based on research and Stanford classes.
