The 12 or 50 Steps to Selling Our House

Each step can be done in one day (or one week):

1)Decide on a sale price.

2) Change your mind on the sale price.

3) Mull over a sale price range.

4) Recognize that we have a ton of little ‘extras’ we can pack first.

5) Locate all of the holes and broken things that are everywhere and agree that the walls could use a wash and feel quietly alarmed that we have been living like this for years.

6) Make a ‘fix-it’ list.

7) Firmly decide that we will fix nothing.

8) Box up those little extras & haul them to the storage unit, because we have one.

9) Recover.

10) Purchase a yard sign.

11) Let husband chicken scrawl the info onto the sign (agree that I’d “take too long”); make him add his phone # instead of mine. Place the sign in the garage next to the freezer.

12) Clean & clear the main bathroom for pics.

13) Take pics of the main bathroom.

14) Clean & clear the kitchen & living area. Take pics before it becomes a mess again.

15) Start Zillow account with pertinent information, less the pics.

16) Edit Zillow account’s pertinent information, plus remember: “We need a pic of the outside of the house.” and, “What price are we listing it at?”
