That’s My Book!

November Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Happiness”

Happiness is your book in print

Writing is a long, lonely process, especially when you are working on a complex book, with no end in sight.

My book on the Indian actor Aamir Khan was a difficult journey. It took me three years to complete the book.

At many points, I was not sure if I would have to quit halfway. But I persisted.

So finally, when the publisher sent me my copy of I’ll Do It My Way, and I actually held it in my hand, it was a feeling of intense joy.

Sometimes, hard work does pay off.

But even better was the feeling of walking into a bookshop and stumbling on it next to an autobiography of the prime minister of India.

I had to remind myself, “That’s my book!”

It is a special moment for a writer.

That was happiness.
